All snark aside, the recent personal life revelations about "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart, and its implications on her real-life relationship with co-star Robert Pattinson, have made sad reading, just as it's always sad to hear that any nice-seeming young couple are having difficulties. There's always many facets and sides to such a story, and as enticing as the gossip can be, we've all been in similar situations ourselves, on any number of angles, and it's hard not to feel for all involved.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably already know that the relationship between Edward and Bella, aka Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, has ended due to the latter's affair with her "Snow White & The Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders. While the tabloids are continuing to try and squeeze the story for all its worth, one of the big question marks was what Summit was going to do for the press rounds of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2." Robsten, as they are known to their diehard fans, have been an integral part to the franchise's marketing, with their real life relationship one of the selling points of their romance in the films. But will they face the media spotlight once again in the wake of this highly publicized break? The answer is, duh, yes.

David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis" appears to be a curious film. It's certainly not a summer tentpole, but the picture is nonetheless being released in early August, the week after "The Bourne Legacy" hits theaters. Counter-programming, or does everyone just have faith in the drawing power of its lead, Robert Pattinson?

Well, the honeymoon's out of the way, the baby's been born, and now the marriage of Bella & Edward (Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson), the lead characters of the "Twilight" franchise, is going the same way as many other marriages -- into a series of fights. However, it's not the newlyweds who are arguing; it's the new Mr. & Mrs Cullen, along with Edward's family, and Jacob's pack of werewolves, against vampire authority the Volturi, who believe that their child Renesmee is an abomination, and needs to be destroyed. Which is all a long-winded way of saying that the first full teaser trailer for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part Two" has arrived (to coincide with Edward's 111th birthday: you people do know he's a fictional character, right?), and it looks like it has the biggest scope of the series so far.

It's almost impossible to discuss the "The Twilight Saga" franchise. Riddled with preposterous concepts, terrible dialogue, stilted acting, bargain-bin basement effects and unitentionally funny plotting,  you're still considered a hater if you're anything less than glowing about these pictures despite the fact that critics savage into them on a regular basis. Proof? The average score from the always generous and populist Rotten Tomatoes on all four films thus far is 37.7%.

Fresh from its red carpet premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, word was mixed to positive for David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis," his suddenly of-the-moment adaptation of Don DeLillo's acclaimed novel featuring a pretty good leading turn by Robert Pattinson. The film opens in Canada this weekend and the U.K. next week, but don't worry U.S. fans, you won't have to wait too long.

We watch a man in ragged clothes look longingly through the window of a fancy Belle Epoque Parisian restaurant. Later, the hungry man in his mean garret relives the moment, jealousy and bitterness at the injustice of his situation playing across his face. Did we mention the man is played by Robert Pattinson?

Having just made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, David Cronenberg's striking and claustrophobic "Cosmopolis" is riding a wave of buzz. While reviews of the provocative picture have been mixed, champions of the film -- including our own A-grade review from the Croisette -- describe the effort as one of his best in recent years. And part of the buzz is likely largely in part thanks to Cronenberg's unlikely star Robert Pattinson. Known globally as Edward Cullen from the "Twilight" series, with that franchise coming to a close this year, Pattinson is looking ahead and eager to take on new acting challenges. And by most accounts, he passed with flying colors in the edgy "Cosmopolis," a performance should open the eyes of many to the variety of talents he may not get to exercise in the vampire series.

While he hasn't yet overwhelmingly won over his critics (reviews for "Cosmopolis" were mostly pleasantly surprised about his performance without raving about it), you have to give it up to Robert Pattinson for marking smart, bold choices. The actor's mostly been tied up on the "Twilight" movies for the past few years, but now he's admirably taking some risky and diverse roles, including costume drama "Bel Ami" from theater veteran Declan Donnellan, a thriller about the hunt for Saddam Hussein entitled "Mission: Blacklist," another picture with Cronenberg, or a team-up with Guy Pearce on "The Rover," from "Animal Kingdom" director David Michod.
