Hector And The Search for Happiness
It's no small feat having co-written and starred in the hallowed Cornetto Trilogy, but Simon Pegg has also managed to carve out a sizeable back catalog of generally entertaining if sometimes forgettable features. Between lending support to the "Mission: Impossible" and "Star Trek" franchises, you'd think the "Nerd Do Well" author wouldn't have the time to turn in full-fledged leading man performances in "A Fantastic Fear of Everything" and again, in the upcoming "Hector and the Search for Happiness."

Hector And The Search For Happiness
For some people, having a good job, a decent middle class life, and being married to Rosamund Pike, just isn't enough. Nope, for some, they still have to figure out the secret to being happy and must take a trip around the world to figure it out.

What We Did On Our Holiday
Over a decade on from playing a Bond girl, British actress Rosamund Pike is about to enter a whole new act of her career. Hot off acclaimed recent roles in the likes of "An Education" and "The World's End," Pike landed one of the most hotly sought-after parts around: the female lead in David Fincher's adaptation of best-selling thriller "Gone Girl," opposite Ben Affleck. It's easily the most high profile gig she's ever had and stands a good chance of attracting awards attention and vaulting her to a new level of stardom.

Gone Girl Ben Affleck
As followers of the filmmaker know, David Fincher likes to have input on every aspect of films, including the marketing, and that has been true of his upcoming "Gone Girl." Back in January, Fincher snapped the EW cover photo featuring the stars of the film, Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, and he's once again played shutterbug for another magazine front.

Gone Girl Ben Affleck
"Gone Girl" certainly has a lot of variables at play. On the one hand, it co-stars Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry, not the names you might immediately associate with a David Fincher film. On the other hand, it's based on a bestseller by Gillian Flynn (who wrote a new ending for the film), it brings Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross back to score, and the material is right in Fincher's thriller wheelhouse. The result? Well, judge for yourself, as the first trailer is here.

Hector And The Search For Happiness
First announced way back in 2012, we sort of forgot about this movie and to be honest weren't even sure if it got made. But alas, "Hector And The Search For Happiness" did go in front of cameras. The first look at it is here and... well, it'll give you a sense of déjà vu.

Based on a massive, critically acclaimed bestseller, and starring the next Batman, it's no surprise that 20th Century Fox are getting the promotional ball rolling very early for David Fincher's "Gone Girl." Just after Christmas, the first official image from the movie was released, and to kick off the New Year, here comes another peek at the flick.

Few literary adaptations are as hotly anticipated as David Fincher's "Gone Girl." The novel by Gillian Flynn was a bona fide literary sensation, selling more than two million copies in print and digital editions by the end of its first year of publication, and every aspect of the film's casting has been obsessed over. With Ben Affleck in the role of Nick Dunne, whose wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) mysteriously vanishes, leaving him as the prime suspect, it was just a matter of filling out the supporting cast, something that is very near completion with Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit and Carrie Coon joining the film and Tyler Perry confirmed for a role.

Well, that was a lot of drama for a moment. With names like Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, Abbie Cornish, Olivia Wilde and Julianne Hough (really) all being tossed around as potential leads for David Fincher's "Gone Girl," the long-pegged frontrunner has officially landed the job.
