Reason #7,530 why the offer story is generally lame nine out of ten times. Other than the fact that it's usually false or completely incorrect, it tends to be nothing more than a memo piece of information that leaks far too early; a twinkle in some studio head's eye and a "wouldn't it be nice?"-type thought that's not based in any kind of concrete reality — it's just an idea and when this info leaks, the talent doesn't know about it, neither does their agent and the studio hasn't even gone out with a formal offer yet. Sometimes when a formal offer does go out and when it's delivered from a reliable trade paper, the information can be a bit more substantial, but often times a wishlist or offer story is to be treated with suspicion and/or held away so as not to let the redolent turd reach your nose.

That's The Clever Title For 'Clash Of The Titans 2' In Case You're Not CleverThere have been a lot of rumors of actors being "considered" for roles lately, and usually it's a result of one intrepid producer making a highly optimistic wish list. Every movie has these wish lists - no one ever comes out and says, "I want to cast Patrick Dempsey," but someone's got to end up with him. And so we have names being thrown around for the megabudgeted sci-fi pic "All You Need Is Kill" and the anticipated-by-no-one sequel "Wrath of the Titans."

In case you forgot, "Blue Valentine," the prickly relationship drama starring Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling, was recently slapped with an NC-17 rating by the MPAA much to the confusion of, well, everyone. While the MPAA keeps the reasons for their decisions secret, most believe it is due to a scene where the troubled couple, played by Williams and Gosling, have an argument in the midst of having sex. Yes, it's a very uncomfortable and bracing scene but certainly nothing risqué about it. Regardless, the notoriously sex-afraid, violence-happy MPAA got their knickers in a twist and gave the hardest rating they could against the film.
