It's been rumored for a while, but it looks like it's actually happening, per Deadline: Al Pacino and David Gordon Green are teaming up. As reported a while back, the unlikely duo are pairing up on "Manglehorn," which will see Pacino as "an eccentric man who tries to come to terms with a past crime that cost him the love of his life." While Pacino's been doing some solid work on HBO, it's a full decade since his last great big screen performance (in Christopher Nolan's "Insomnia"), so the team up with Gordon Green couldn't have come soon enough, especially as we're hearing good buzz on "Joe," his next film, with Nicolas Cage. Photography will get underway in October

Exciting news for “Boardwalk Empire” fans – Jeffrey Wright will join the show for its fourth season next year as a series regular. He'll be playing “Valentin Narcisse, Doctor of Divinity, philanthropist, student of culture and the man who runs Harlem.” So he’s a character with a pretty impressive CV, and it's some nice casting for a show that continues to cast respected character actors. Wright recently finished work on “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” where he played the notable character from the books, Beetee.

As writer, director and star of “The Man with the Iron Fists,“ rapper RZA finally brings his vision, and his career inspirations, to the big screen. The multi-hyphenate, who plays the Blacksmith in this twisty martial arts tale, was thrilled to be at the helm of a $20 million Universal film, but he knew that this project would immediately need to be distinguished from other similar movies.

Review: 'The Man With The Iron Fists' A Noble, But Overstuffed First Effort From RZA

“I’m the baddest man alive,” goes the chorus for one of the many hip hop songs in “The Man With The Iron Fists,” the directorial debut of RZA. The director is actually the subject of the song, as he plays the title character, a blacksmith seeking revenge for being wronged by a group of villains who sweep into China’s rowdy Jungle Village. But at a certain point, you have to wonder: why is he so bad? RZA, who has logged hours within the supporting casts of “American Gangster,” “Ghost Dog: Way Of The Samurai” and “Due Date,” plays the taciturn weapons maker with the same dour expression that suggests a dullard, which RZA certainly doesn’t seem to be. As a musician and lyricist, he is without peer, but as a leading man, his face hangs like Snoopy, his voice monotone and highlighting none of the musicality of his rhymes. That being said, the movie isn’t called “The Man With The Iron Charisma.”

The Scientist, Prince Rakeem, The Abbott, Bobby Digital...these are just a few of the names RZA has had over the years as a hip hop artist, music producer and leader of the Wu Tang Clan. But this Friday, he'll get set to add a new name to his repertoire -- Director -- as he unveils "The Man With The Iron Fists." An ambitious, colorful kung fu flick, the likes of which Hollywood hasn't produced in years, it's quite the undertaking, but as this new featurette reveals, RZA had the advice and insight of some pretty notable people to guide him.

Quentin Tarantino has been careful in building a sort of shared universe between his films across the last couple of decades. There's not a huge degree of crossover, but certain things -- like Red Apple cigarettes -- recur across his movies, while a character from one film can be related to another, like Mr. Blonde and Vincent from "Pulp Fiction" being brother, or Donny Donowitz from "Inglourious Basterds" being the father of Lee Donowitz from "True Romance."

What is there left to say about "The Man with the Iron Fists"? It's directed by Wu-Tang Clan member RZA, he directed it and co-wrote the script with Eli Roth and it's a goddamn kung-fu movie. Russell Crowe plays the villain and the movie has a pretty awesome soundtrack. If you don't have even a little bit of excitement in your heart for this we don't know what to tell you.

As RZA's Wu-resume grows to include the title of director, it looks like the rapper isn't just going to get back behind the decks, cook up some beats and drop some mad rhymes. He sees a Wu-opportunity to keep this new Wu-avenue going, and the filmmaker is now taking on a new project.

If you'd told us during the heyday of Wu-Tang Clan that RZA would eventually end up helming a legitimate martial-arts film, we would have called you crazy. But here we are, just under a month until the release of his directorial debut, “The Man With The Iron Fists,” and we still can’t believe it’s actually happening. To build anticipation, new artwork and stills have dropped, and they’re really cool.
