Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Marvel already knows "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is going to be a success, and back in January, they started development on the inevitable third movie, rehiring directors Anthony and Joe Russo for "Captain America 3." And as you might expect, with press rounds beginning for 'The Winter Soldier,' the sibling directors will be asked about the next installment, but anyone looking for details might be disappointed as they're still figuring it all out.

Celebrate Action Stars After 60
This week, Liam Neeson can be seen in “Non Stop,” the latest in a surprisingly active career as an action star. While Neeson has a history peppered with prestige films here and there, make no mistake, his most recent resumé consists of kicking ass and taking names. What no one mentions is that Neeson, who is soon scheduled to show up in a third “Taken” film, is actually a spectacular 61 years old, which is impressive considering the leaping, punching, and growling he’s done in recent years. Have you seen your parents lately? They can barely open the door and hoodies terrify them.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Over the past week, there has been a lot of talk about "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," spoilers and the ethics of revealing them. Essentially, recent soundtrack listings and previews of toys (yes, that sound you're hearing is my eyes rolling far, far into the back of my head) have possibly given up character reveals and plot points of the upcoming superhero flick. HitFix can lead you to those recent developments, because right now we want to focus on one that is coming straight from Marvel.

Painful: Watch Entertainment Anchor Mistake Samuel L. Jackson For Laurence Fishburne

Samuel L. Jackson is not Laurence Fishburne
Youch. Yes, Samuel L. Jackson is ubiquitous, practically his own genre and willing to take on work in the high and low arts of any avenue of cinema. Hell, he’s not beyond doing commercials either, and doesn’t need to resort to doing them overseas like some of the world’s bigger stars (like Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney and Brad Pitt). But one commercial Jackson did not appear in was Kia's Super Bowl ad, which saw Laurence Fishburne reprise his role as Morpheus from “The Matrix” films. But somehow that didn’t stop KTLA Entertainment anchor Sam Rubin, “a multiple-Emmy winner” we’re told, from asking Jackson about starring in the Super Bowl ad. And the reaction he got was priceless. Robocop
Every movie should be approached with an open mind. Ideally, be it a film from Martin Scorsese or Friedberg and Seltzer, a reviewer should be going in without expectations, ready to play it as it lays. But it'd be dishonest to pretend that that was the case going in to "RoboCop," because it's a long-delayed remake of Paul Verhoeven's 1980s cult action sci-fi classic that, based at least on early buzz and previews, does without much of what made the original special — the satirical bite, the extreme violence, the hand-crafted effects et al. As such, even the most even-handed person could be forgiven for going in with a heavy heart, especially with the smell of the abysmal "Total Recall" redo still lingering like a fish head behind a radiator.

Quentin Tarantino,
“I do like the fact that everyone eventually posts [my scripts], gets it and reviews it on the net. I like the fact that people like my shit, and that they go out of their way to find it and read it," Quentin Tarantino recently told Deadline. And while we're not going to defend Gawker's wanton leaking of the script, we are going to look at the director’s would-be Western “The Hateful Eight” in some broad strokes.

Tupac Shakur Reportedly Would Have Auditioned For Mace Windu In 'Phantom Menace' Before His Death

Tupac Shakur, Jedi
Here’s a strange, wtf what might have been of the day, though it does sound somewhat apocryphal. While Tupac Shakur was gunned down in 1996, he apparently was about to audition for 1999’s “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” Read More »

Hailee Steinfeld Shows Some True Grit In First Images From 'Barely Lethal'

Barely Lethal
Oh, we sort of thought the kids-shooting-guns-and-kicking-ass-for-laughs genre was done after no one cared about "Kick-Ass 2." Guess not. Another movie in a similar shape, though perhaps with a bit of "Hanna" and "Salt" thrown in too is on the way with "Barely Lethal." The first images from the movie are here via EW, with "True Grit" star Hailee Steinfeld as the kid trying to have a normal high school life until she's forced to use her special skills again.
