Quentin Tarantino,
“I do like the fact that everyone eventually posts [my scripts], gets it and reviews it on the net. I like the fact that people like my shit, and that they go out of their way to find it and read it," Quentin Tarantino recently told Deadline. And while we're not going to defend Gawker's wanton leaking of the script, we are going to look at the director’s would-be Western “The Hateful Eight” in some broad strokes.

Tupac Shakur Reportedly Would Have Auditioned For Mace Windu In 'Phantom Menace' Before His Death

Tupac Shakur, Jedi
Here’s a strange, wtf what might have been of the day, though it does sound somewhat apocryphal. While Tupac Shakur was gunned down in 1996, he apparently was about to audition for 1999’s “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” Read More »

Hailee Steinfeld Shows Some True Grit In First Images From 'Barely Lethal'

Barely Lethal
Oh, we sort of thought the kids-shooting-guns-and-kicking-ass-for-laughs genre was done after no one cared about "Kick-Ass 2." Guess not. Another movie in a similar shape, though perhaps with a bit of "Hanna" and "Salt" thrown in too is on the way with "Barely Lethal." The first images from the movie are here via EW, with "True Grit" star Hailee Steinfeld as the kid trying to have a normal high school life until she's forced to use her special skills again. Samuel L. Jackson, Tobey Maguire & Arcade Fire 'Between Two Ferns' With Zach Galifianakis
Perhaps this makes up for the thorough awfulness of "The Hangover Part III," or consider it an early Christmas present, at any rate, Zach Galifianakis is back with another edition of "Between Two Ferns," and as always it's loaded with insults, one liners and this time around, a band.

Ten Thousand Saints Haliee Steinfeld
Punk rock movies are usually a very mixed bag (see this year's "CBGB") but with colorful characters and big emotions, filmmakers are going to keep flocking to the subject matter. And thus, Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini ("American Splendor," "Cinema Verite") are going to turn it up with "Ten Thousand Saints."

From the director of "Antitrust" and co-writer of "Flightplan"! Excited yet?! Those are the best endorsements the marketing people could muster for "Reasonable Doubt," a new legal thriller that has managed to get both Samuel L. Jackson and Dominic Cooper into the cinematic jury box.

Oldboy
Wook’s 2003 original, and also one reason from many why an American adaptation should have remained a “what-if” scenario. At least Lee occasionally knows which battles to pick: when an eight-armed mollusk does appear—clung to the side of a water tank in a dingy Chinese restaurant—it stays there. As a visual in-joke it works, but we quickly realize the “Inside Man” director is more keen on those filmgoers without a grasp on its significance, blind to the film’s later aberrant twists which, judging from the audible groans of disgust in our auditorium, may number beyond a few.

RoboCop
After two rather more uptempo trailers selling the familiar tale of "RoboCop" in a slick new package, a fresh international spot takes a more mournful tone, one that puts the emotional arc of the story first and the explosions second. And oh yeah, it features lots of new footage too.

Samuel L. Jackson Says Mark Hamill & Ewan McGregor Haven't Been Contacted By J.J. Abrams For 'Star Wars 7'

Before we get into this it's probably worth reminding everyone that when it comes to "Star Wars," at this point, nobody really knows anything except J.J. Abrams, Lawrence Kasdan, George Lucas and probably Michael Arndt, who is likely sworn to secrecy about whatever work he did on "Star Wars: Episode 7" before being replaced. That being said, it seems Samuel L. Jackson is a pretty chatty fellow and has friends in the right places, so his contributions to the forever spinning rumor mill are worth paying some attention to.
