Listen, there is no doubt that Samuel L. Jackson and Val Kilmer are solid actors, and given the right material and talent to work with, they are some of the finest thesps in the game. Unfortunately, both are prone to taking on dubious projects (though the latter far more often than the former) and news comes today of two projects that find the actors swinging for mediocrity.

Cormac McCarthy + Tommy Lee Jones + Samuel L. Jackson. Do we have your attention? Well, it certainly caught ours as those three names alone would get us curious about whatever it is they're involved with, but if you're expecting a dusty western or grim gothic tale you're going to be in for a bit of surprise. "The Sunset Limited" is based on McCarthy's play and its conceit is quite simple: two guys in an apartment talking about all the fun stuff like religion, death and whether human nature is defaulted to suffering or happiness. So maybe this isn't too outside of McCarthy's regular wheelhouse.

Tom Hiddleston Confirmed To Be Coming Back As LokiThat was quick. Just two days ago we were discussing the new frontrunners for the role that turns out to be SHIELD Agent Maria Hill, the sidekick for Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury character in Marvel's "The Avengers" film (for a second there we were thinking they'd turn this character into the Wasp). Names included Mary Elizabeth Winstead (”Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World”), “V” star Morena Baccarin (who also starred in 'Avengers' director Joss Whedon‘s “Firefly” and the film “Serenity”), Jessica Lucas (”Cloverfield”) and Cobie Smulders.

Well, that was fast. Last night Samuel L. Jackson hit "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and confirmed that Nick Fury would be in both "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Thor." He also dropped the bomb that tomorrow, he was going to be screentesting with actresses for some kind of companion role in the upcoming "The Avengers" telling Fallon, "I gotta screen test like five actresses on Friday. They have this new character that’s my sidekick or something, that’s with me all the time."

Last spring, a new film from "Machinist" director Brad Anderson was announced. Titled, "Jack," the project had John Cusack set to star in the film that told the story of a doctor who falls in love with the titular character who they have been assigned to rehabilitate after an accident. When memories begin to surface of his murderous past though, the man must decide whether to make a new start with his new love or embrace the killer within.
