The Avengers
As Marvel enters Phase Two of their cinematic universe, their business universe is also getting a bit of a shake up. No one could have really predicted that Phase One would end with the billion dollar earning "The Avengers," and that really changed the game. Wisely, Robert Downey Jr. had negotiated a deal for a cut of the profits which saw him pocket a cool $50 million. Not bad, right? Well, now imagine you're one of the actors that only got $200,000 for the movie. As you might guess, that is causing some serious friction as Marvel tries to lock everyone in for "The Avengers 2."

Remember when Luc Besson said he was retiring? That was pretty funny (and short-lived). Dude has never been busier and is a mogul now, first and foremost, at the head of the very successful production house EuropaCorp. And the Besson brand, for better or worse, now stands in for mid-budget action fare like "Taken," "Columbiana" and "Lockout" that even if they don't do well in theaters, don't cost much to make, and tend to have a long shelf life. And while as a director he's currently working on "Malavita" with Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer, it looks like he's ready to return to his familiar milieu of women kicking ass.

Don Jon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Scarlett Johansson,
The SXSW Film Festival is about to be raging with tex-mex, sticky bbq fingers, hangovers and films in a quick minute. And on the eve of the first night, actor/writer/director Joseph Gordon-Levitt has a message for us. His upcoming directorial debut, a type of porn-addiction dramedy, formerly known as "Don Jon's Addiction," will simply be now known as "Don Jon."

Jon Martello is the quintessential modern-day lothario. He and his friends objectify women, rate them on a scale of one to ten and cruise clubs for chicks that they can bed and discard. Jon, in particular, is exceptionally good at wooing the ladies with his muscles, slick-backed hair and cocky charms. His life, as he tells us in voiceover, is all about his friends, the gym, his ride (a Camaro muscle car), his family, church (no, really), girls and pornography. Lots and lots of pornography. Jon is an inveterate and compulsive porn addict, so much so that it prevents him from having a substantial relationship with any female. Jon Martello, in case you missed it, is a total guido from New Jersey, complete with "Jersey Shore "accent.

In the last seven years, if you tracked every project filmmaker David O. Russell was linked to, you’d likely find over a dozen films that he was seemingly intended to direct. Even in the two years since “The Fighter,” Russell’s been ostensibly attached to myriad projects -- “Mission” with Brad Pitt,” “American Sniper” with Bradley Cooper and a biopic of former Rhode Island Mayor Buddy Cianci, just to name a few.

Nostalgia is riding high these days in Hollywood, not just in the blockbuster-tentpole world, but also in the awards race -- the last two Best Picture awards winners were feel-good period pieces that struck gold with Academy voters. Now, with “Hitchcock” getting some Oscar buzz -- more new images from the Sacha Gervasi-helmed film are below -- the team behind the biopic has decided to tackle the life of another pop culture figure, Johnny Carson.

A movie about the movies, an actor's showcase and a look at one of the most iconic horror films of all time, "Hitchcock" is both about the making of "Psycho" and Alfred Hitchcock's relationship with his wife Alma Reville. But as you'll see in this clip, it wasn't always easy.

If there is one thing that HBO's "The Girl" and Fox Searchlight's "Hitchcock" seem to underscore, it's that Alfred Hitchcock surely liked his leading ladies. To what degree and how sleazy he may or may not have been, is open to interpretation. And while the Toby Jones vehicle portrays him as a ruthless cad, Sacha Gervasi's picture -- set during the making of "Psycho" -- takes a bit of a lighter air, though the helmer certainly doesn't mind making sure the curves are framed properly. And fresh off the film's AFI Fest debut, some new images have arrived giving a closer look at the rest of the extended cast, including the actresses who take on some classic cinema roles.

Hypnotic, beautiful, and perilous in equal measure – one needn’t glance anywhere else but at the leading ladies of Alfred Hitchcock’s films to garner their intense influence, yet as dramatized in “Anvil!” director Sacha Gervasi’s loving biopic, “Hitchcock,” the real authority lingered off the set at home, shielding her husband quietly from failure and ruin. What follows is a peek behind the curtain on Hitchcock’s marriage to Alma Reville (the couple played by Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren), while charting their pangs of jealousy and pressure during the turbulent making of “Psycho.”
