Sausage Party, Rogen, Rudd, McBride
For all the “brave” or “risky” movie projects Annapurna Pictures backs, this one might be their biggest dare so far. When was the last time there was an R-rated animated film in wide-release theaters for adults? Aside from the Ralph Bakshi films from the 1970s, the “Heavy Metal" movie in the 1980s and after 1999's "South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut," the pickins are pretty slim (and we're talking theatrical, not DVD releases). Animated films are mostly the domain of kids movies, but Annapurna does have quite the project in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s “Sausage Party.”

Run
Just as that whole, weird Jay Z/Solange elevator dust up is clearing out of the tabloid food chain, it looks like the rapper and his wife Beyoncé have found a whole new way to weird us out. With the pair embarking shortly on a summer tour, they've dropped the trailer for the short film "Run" and we can't make heads or tails of this thing.

It appears the personal and professional will soon combine for Sean Penn: just yesterday we found out he’s prepping a new directorial effort entitled “The Last Space”—reportedly set within the refugee camps of Sudan, Liberia—and also that “Blue is The Warmest Color” actress Adèle Exarchapoulos snagged a small role. It’s only gaining steam however, as Penn has chosen a fellow humanitarian for the lead in the secretive project.

After her luminous performance in "Blue Is The Warmest Color," we're a bit surprised Hollywood isn't breaking down the door of Adèle Exarchapoulos, but it seems Sean Penn knows talent when he sees it. It would seem he's gearing up a new movie to direct this summer—it's certainly the first we're hearing about it—and Exarchapoulos not only reveals that she has a role in it, she spilled a few details on what it's all about (apologies in advance for wobbly Google Translate).

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty
In a colorless and unremarkable New York apartment, the shy, anonymous Walter Mitty stares at the eHarmony dating page of his co-worker Cheryl (Kristen Wiig). Debating whether or not to make the online first move, Walter eventually daydreams about a spectacular manner in which to impress her. But back in reality, the question remains: can the timid man send the social networking equivalent of a hello to the girl he has a crush on? If he does have the chutzpah to do so, will the complexities of life and fate manage to interfere? Will Walter be able to seize the day and “just do it” like Nike might have asserted him to do a few decades ago?

Stuck in a rut, lonely and watching life pass him by, Walter Mitty needs a change. And he gets one in Ben Stiller's updated remake of "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty," his rousing, life-affirming take on the classic 1939 story and 1947 film, that will either win over your heart or drown it in sentimentality, depending on how this all plays out for you.

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty
When the first trailer arrived for "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty" this past summer, it took many by surprise. Ben Stiller's remake of Danny Kaye's 1947 musical fantasy looked like it had it's own unique magic, one that got many talking about its Oscar potential. This past weekend, that theory got tested as 'Mitty' made its world premiere at the New York Film Festival to decidedly mixed reviews, and far from the sort of raves that would sustain a picture through the awards season. That being said, there is still a long haul to go and Fox isn't stopping yet.

The Gunman Sean Penn
After a string of arthouse and prestige pictures—"The Tree Of Life," "The Must Be The Place," "Fair Game," "Milk"—it looks like Sean Penn is ready to get paid. Earlier this year, he hammed it up in the glossy studio gangster flick "Gangster Squad," later this year, he's set to drop in on "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty" and now, he's notching an action flick under his belt with "The Gunman," and this is what he looks like in it.

Sean Penn
Since "Magnolia," Paul Thomas Anderson has mostly eschewed the starry ensemble. Not that A-listers haven't been in his films, but each of his last three films -- "Punch Drunk Love," "There Will Be Blood" and "The Master" -- have been anchored by one or two titanic performances by big names, but have featured supporting casts including a few names from PTA' s rep company, and other mostly unfamiliar faces.

In case you missed the news, Ben Stiller is directing and starring in the remake of the 1947 Danny Kaye-vehicle "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty," the somewhat liberal adaptation of the masterful James Thurber short story. The project will somehow also involve Sean Penn so it's fairly safe to assume that this won't be your ordinary do-over, no surprises that the first image is a little bit of a headscratcher.
