From rumbling with Tom Cruise in "Jack Reacher" to trading quips with Dad Willis in "A Good Day To Die Hard," Jai Courtney has been enjoying blockbuster gigs, but still hasn't penetrated the pop culture consciousness. Perhaps a part in potential tween franchise will do the trick.

While the young actor of the moment is currently Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis, a couple of other talents in the past few years have earned attention while not being legally able to drink. Shailene Woodley impressed with her breakout turn in "The Descendants" in 2011, while just the year before, Hailee Steinfeld nabbed an Oscar nod for her performance in "True Grit." It's no surprise Hollywood wants to tap that talent, and they're both being sought for the lead in a new project.

Self-assured, he’s the life of the party, popular and he and his girlfriend Cassidy (Brie Larson) breeze through their high school experience. But, writing an admission letter to the Dean of a university, Sutter reveals his life is at a crossroads. Thinking she's caught him with another girl, Cassidy has dumped him, when the truth is that Sutter was using his good-time skills to help get his timid friend Ricky (Masam Holden) laid. What Emma Stone wants, Emma Stone gets? Back in August, the actress revealed that she was hoping her character of Gwen Stacey in "The Amazing Spider-Man" would stay true to the comics and meet an unfortunate end.  “Essentially the argument is that Spider-Man kills her by accident,” Stone explained about the appeal of the storyline, “So the person she loves is the person who kills her, which is the most horrifying thing. Apparently people unsubscribed to the comic book when that happened because they were just so flipped-out over it. But, of course, I want to stay true to that.” Now, it looks like Sony will.

There is no doubt stardom is coming for Shailene Woodley. After breaking out in last year's "The Descendants," she has lined up two indies with acclaimed filmmakers Gregg Araki and James Ponsoldt ("Smashed"), and just over a week ago, it was revealed she was in talks to play Mary Jane Watson in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." But could a young adult franchise be her ticket to bigger things, launching her career the way it has for Kristen Stewart ("Twilight") and Jennifer Lawrence ("The Hunger Games")?

Well, with director Marc Webb and star Andrew Garfield officially back for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" (and Emma Stone soon, right guys?), and with a release date less than two years away, the gears on the sequel are beginning to turn. And now we have a new actress looking to board the movie, along with the possible identity of the villain.

While it can easily be said that Gregg Araki is divisive, his edgy films, usually centered on youth, do have their fans. Earning equal amounts of criticism and praise for movies like "The Doom Generation," "Mysterious Skin" and "Smiley Face" (not to mention last year's "Kaboom"), he's gearing up for another effort which will surely be no less interesting, no matter which side you fall on. And that he's rounded up one of the most promising young actresses right now to star adds an extra bit of allure.

After her breakout turn in "The Descendants," Shailene Woodley has been understandably inundated with offers for movies, reportedly turning down the seemingly-unnecessary remake of "Carrie," but has finally decided to keep doing what she does best: playing a teenager who's got trouble in front of her.

The unnecessary-but-it's-happening-anyway remake of "Carrie" over at MGM continues to move forward. At the beginning of the year, a random, but kind of inspired decision was made to have Kimberly Peirce sit in the director's chair, and now it seems a gaggle of young Hollywood talent is circling the title role.
