We were beginning to wonder, as 24 hours had nearly passed, but yet another update has arrived in the ongoing saga of the western "Jane Got A Gun." The film, which this week saw director Lynne Ramsay and star Jude Law quit the project, while "Warrior" director Gavin O'Connor has been hired to try to get this thing moving, is still without a villain. The project, now looking to fall a week behind schedule, is in search for a replacement, and a few names have cropped up as possible substitutes.

With "The Great Gatsby" now about five months away from hitting theaters, in marketing terms, it's not a long time, and it looks like Warner Bros. is getting the campaign started on the literary adaptation they hope will be a big hit. Earlier today we got character posters for Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton) and Myrtle Wilson (Isla Fisher), and now a couple more people from F. Scott Fitzgerald's book are getting the one-sheet treatment.

Review: ‘The Details’ Is An Inconsistent But Entertaining Dark Comedy

“The Details” is one of those dark comedies where everything that can go wrong does. The sophomore film from Jacob Aaron Estes, whose previous film “Mean Creek” won the John Cassavetes Award at Sundance in 2004, was the biggest sale of the 2011, purchased by The Weinstein Company for $8 million. Of the dozen movies this writer saw while he was at the fest, it was one of the more accessible, but didn’t exactly ring of “Little Miss Sunshine”-like success either. The film stars Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Banks as Jeff and Nealy Lang, young parents who have hit a rough patch in their marriage. Jeff is a doctor, Nealy is an interior decorator and while it’s probably neither’s fault, the passion has clearly gone out of their relationship, the image of the happy suburban couple is immediately shattered by a screaming match between the couple during the opening credits.

Through the beginnings of Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio’s careers existed a parallel role choice before diverging in approach, and so it's with perhaps a tinge of familiarity, post-“Revolutionary Road,” that Maguire stepped in for his own take on a crumbling marriage with 2011 Sundance hit “The Details.” However, despite finding distribution coin (to the tune of $8 mil) from The Weinstein Company, the Jacob Aaron Estes (“Mean Creek”) black comedy is just now finding theatrical release next month, but rather than bury the film, they’ve instead ramped up promotion with a slew of new material to witness.

Tom Hardy, Leonardo DiCaprio & Tobey Maguire Are Actually Developing Two Anti-Poaching Movies

Hollywood studios have a history of mounting competing projects that cover similar terrain -- think “Deep Impact” and “Armageddon,” or the biopics “Capote” and “Infamous” -- but it’s rare that a studio would be developing two similar projects in-house, and that’s exactly what Warner Bros. is doing. A couple of months ago we heard word that Tom Hardy, Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio would be collaborating on a “‘Traffic’-like take on poaching and illegal animal smuggling” based on an idea Hardy came up with, but now the trio is also collaborating on a second animal smuggling and poaching film.

After an unofficial trailer dropped last week and was quickly scrubbed from the Internet, Radius and The Weinstein Company have finally unveiled the official trailer for "The Details." And while this spot contains familiar elements like dialogue and characters, it's still no less quirky (and compelling) that the decidedly odder version that preceded it.

There are two kinds of Sundance films. There are those that earn instant buzz, get picked up, continue on the festival circuit and become a success. And there are the movies that get a lot of heat at Park City or feature some big stars, get bought up and then sit on the shelf or underperform. Unfortunately for "The Details," it has fallen into the latter category.

"Spider-Man" star Tobey Maguire has a pretty great working relationship with director Ang Lee – he caught his big break in Lee’s tremendous 1997 outing “The Ice Storm,” and, to a lesser degree, gave a fine performance in the filmmaker’s underrated Civil War-set 1999 film “Ride With The Devil” (which recently received a handsome release courtesy of the Criterion Collection). So news that Maguire was cut from Lee’s upcoming awards contender “Life of Pi,” led many to question how the pair would get along from here on out – we’re guessing things are going to be just fine.
