He may have starred in two of the worst blockbusters of recent years -- “Green Lantern” and “R.I.P.D.” -- but don’t hold that against him, given the right film and role (like in this year’s “The Voices”) Ryan Reynolds can shine. Deadline reports Reynolds will stay in the arthouse world with a role in the Helen Mirren-starring “Woman In Gold” alongside Daniel Bruhl, who’s in negotiations with The Weinstein Company.

With "Locke" coming to theatres later this month, and with a role booked for the second season of "Peaky Blinders," it looks Tom Hardy and writer/director Steven Knight are getting along smashingly. And they are now set to expand their working relationship.

Locke Tom Hardy
When you're selling a drama about a guy sitting in a car for 90 minutes, driving and talking to people on the phone, you have to get a bit creative. And the folks behind the forthcoming "Locke" are trying an idea that will hopefully get folks to check out the movie.

The Drop
"Tom was intensely inquisitive," screenwriter Dennis Lehane told USA Today about Tom Hardy's turn. "He mined every single piece of marrow out of that character." And those are encouraging words to hear about "The Drop," the forthcoming film that brings together a helluva ensemble for a tale rich with possibility.

The Drop
Last year, we lost one of the greats with the sudden passing of James Gandolfini. But lucky for us, he still had a couple movies coming that demonstrated he was an actor who had so much more to explore. Last fall, he showed a charmingly softer, gentler side in the underrated "Enough Said" and this fall, he hits the hard streets of Boston in "The Drop." If you haven't heard of it, you may remember it under its former title "Animal Rescue," but either way, it's coming and a batch of new stills has arrived to give a bit of taste.

Mad Max: Fury Road
With production starting in 2012, reshoots taking place last fall, and a lengthy post-production process that won't see the movie released until next fall, as of right now there aren't many details about George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road." It's a return to the Aussie franchise with Tom Hardy now taking the name Max Rockatansky, but a new peek has arrived.

Though “Boardwalk Empire” has only one season left in the tank, hopefully, fans of the show can find solace in the fact that the Martin Scorsese/Terence Winter rock ‘n’ roll pilot for HBO is still moving forward. Olivia Wilde and Juno Temple have most recently joined the cast as the pilot is set to begin production this summer.

Locke Tom Hardy
How do you make a movie about a guy driving a car for an hour, talking on his cell phone, compelling? Well, you get Tom Hardy to lead and Steven Knight to write and direct it, and if you're lucky enough, you wind up with something like "Locke."

Ronald and Reginald Kray Tom Hardy
For a little while now, Tom Hardy has been attached to play "Capone" in the film set to be directed by David Yates. Plans were fairly ambitious, with talk of a trilogy at one time, but with the director now busy on "Tarzan" (sigh) it looks a long way off. But Hardy will get to scratch his gangster itch twice over.

"I'd just finished the [Jason] Statham picture ['Redemption'], which was very conventional. And the whole process just made me think to look again at the basics of what the job is: get a load of people into a room, turn off the lights and get them to watch a screen for 90 minutes, and how many other ways there are, without using all the tricks that normally go with a film," writer/director Steven Knight told us at the Göteborg International Film Festival earlier this month.
