Jane Fonda sure is busy these days. After taking only the occasional role over the past seven years, Fonda is suddenly everywhere again and can be seen the upcoming comedy-drama "Peace, Love & Misunderstanding," Aaron Sorkin's HBO series "The Newsroom," and will play Nancy Reagan in Lee Daniels' "The Butler." Add Geoff Moore and David Posamentier's "Better Living Through Chemistry" to Fonda's schedule as well.

Already in production in Los Angeles, the film stars Sam Rockwell as a small-town pharmacist who has an affair with a customer's trophy wife (Olivia Wilde), who introduces him to the pleasures of prescription drugs (apparently he never tried his own products). Things get messy when she wants him to kill her husband. According to Deadline, Fonda's character will be a customer of Rockwell's pharmacy who is "the conscience" of the film. Currently in France for Cannes, Fonda will soon head to Maryland to shoot her scenes. No release date has been scheduled so far.

For those that have been wondering when Kate Beckinsale and Nick Nolte were going to be in a film together, the wait is finally over. According to Deadline, the pair will unite in Karen Moncrieff's "The Trials of Cate McCall," which has just started production in Los Angeles.

Beckinsale will play a former hotshot lawyer (now that title is making sense) who is in recovery and hopes to win back custody of her daughter and be reinstated with the bar by taking the appeal of a woman wrongfully convicted of murder. What role Nolte will play is unknown, but we're sure it will be a grizzled and angry one, potentially any of the cops or judges that Beckinsale will have to contend with along the way. James Cromwell is also reportedly in the cast, but his role is also unknown. Moncrieff ("The Dead Girl") is directing from her own script.

Finally, after winning the Best Screenplay Oscar for "The Descendents," Jim Rash and Nat Faxon's first order of business was to set up their 2010 Black List script "The Way, Way Back" as their co-directorial debut.

The story follows a teenage boy who, during a summer spent working at a local waterpark, finds the courage to stand up to his cheating and drinking stepfather while repairing a strained relationship with his mother. Last month, Steve Carell and Toni Collette were cast as the stepdad and mother, respectively, and Variety reports that Liam James, who plays Mireille Enos' son on AMC's 'The Killing' will play the lead.

Production is set to start this summer in Massachusetts. Sam Rockwell (remember him from earlier?) and Allison Janney will co-star.
