Review: 'The Immigrant'The New York Times reports that "Glengarry Glen Ross" is poised for a Broadway revival for the 2012-2013 season, with Al Pacino set to return, but not as the voluble Ricky Roma. Instead he'll be paying the sadsack and desperate Shelley “The Machine” Levene, played by Lemmon in the film. It's a really interesting switch-up, with Roma clearly playing to Pacino's yelling and gesticulating tendencies, and we have to admit, it could be pretty brilliant to see him go against type. As you'll recall, the story follows a group of real estate salesman who are unwittingly put into a contest for their careers where the lowest performers will get fired. Levene tries anything to get better leads, but winds up only making things worse for himself along the way.
Daniel Sullivan will direct the revival, reteaming with Pacino after a stage version of "The Merchant Of Venice" in 2010, though other casting is being kept under wraps for now. But Pacino alone should already make this a hot item -- not word yet on when tickets will go on sale. Until then, here are some of Pacino's best moments from the film....
