10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesFirst off, Playlist fave and all around great composer Alexandre Desplat will be tuning up the picture, which is definitely something we're going to be keeping an ear out for. But perhaps most intriguingly is the news that Cassel and Gans will be utilizing performance capture for the role of the Beast. The technique championed by Andy Serkis has taken off in recent yaers -- mostly recently used on Steven Spielberg's and Peter Jackson's "The Adventures of Tintin" -- and it certainly suggests this version of the Beast will be perhaps unlike anything we've seen yet in the various iterations of the story. Good idea, bad idea? We'll see.
The cast has been rounded out by Audrey Lamy and Sara Giraudeau, who will play Belle's uglier sisters, while Eduardo Noriega ("Blackthorn," "Open Your Eyes") in onboard as the "villain" (though it's unclear what exactly that is). Production kicked off today, and with these details filling things in a bit more, we're eager to see how this turns out. [Films Actu/RTBF]

FYI : Noriega is not replacing Depardieu, who was supposed to be the father of Seydoux. André Dussolier is. Noriega is juste playing the "bad guy" or whoever this is - who could imagine Noriega and Depardieu playing the same guy, seriously ? (This is from a French media)

I'd go with "good idea". Cassel is a good actor but he tends to rely on the same tricks again an again (like others do with better efficiency). His work can be very caricatural/annoying sometimes. So maybe here he'll play with the device a bit and we'll end up with something as amazing as Crispin Glover's Grendel in beowulf (good movie btw).
