10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesOf course, details on this super secret project this far are under tight lock and key, but Variety reports that Eve beat out folks like Teresa Palmer and Hayley Atwell for a role that will be a new one to the Star Trek universe. And that's all. We're mostly just glad Eve is getting a shot at a major role after losing out on "Man of Steel," "X-Men: First Class" and "Captain America: The First Avenger" and likely being wasted in next summer's "Men In Black 3." She's got a host of other movies on the way -- from the low budget thriller "ATM" to the gothic mystery "The Raven" to the indie "Decoding Annie Parker" -- but this above all of them will be a major career boost, and her highest profile gig to date.
Michael Giacchino is scoring the pic and Benicio Del Toro will play the villain in the J.J. Abrams-directed movie that will shoot in 2012 in 3D, and hit theaters on May 17, 2013.

Alice Eve is really gorgeous and very talented. I hope she is playing a human love interest for James Kirk.
