So last night we got the final trailer for "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," but less than a day later, even more from the movie has arrived, with Fox planning to spend the next four weeks ensuring their comic book sequel is a massive hit. And it looks like yet another mutant is (re)joining the fold.

So last night we got the final trailer for "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," but less than a day later, even more from the movie has arrived, with Fox planning to spend the next four weeks ensuring their comic book sequel is a massive hit. And it looks like yet another mutant is (re)joining the fold.

Just before Christmas, it was reported that Anna Paquin's Rogue had been cut from Bryan Singer's film, but fans rejoice, because it appears she's back. Sorta. The folks at Buzzfeed noticed her name in the credits of the recent trailer, made a few calls, and have confirmed Paquin is indeed going to appear. “Essentially, [it’s] a cameo,” a rep at the studio said. So keep your eyes open.

While it may be just a cameo, Vulture adds that it's a pivotal scene to the plot of the movie. What's more, "three more mutants filmed secret cameos in the film" but they aren't even teasing who those characters might be, because apparently it's a big spoiler. (Who wants to take bets it will be spoiled before the movie opens?)

Oh, there's more—"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" has opened in the U.K., and reports are coming in that somewhat bizarrely, there's a mid-credits stinger for 'Days Of Future Past' featuring a scene from the film with Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique kicking all sorts of ass. Why would Sony be promoting a Fox movie? No idea, but remember that Paramount stuck "The Dark Knight Rises" opening on IMAX screenings of "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," so it's not totally unprecedented.

Update: Why it happened? Variety explains.

The reason is that “Spider-Man” director Marc Webb had an existing contract with Fox Searchlight to helm another film following 2009′s “500 (Days) of Summer.” After “The Amazing Spider-Man” in 2012, Webb’s negotiations briefly stalled with Sony as he was caught in a tug-of-war with Fox. Eventually, Fox agreed to allow Webb to direct Sony’s “Spider-Man” sequel, but only if Sony would promote its “X-Men” film for free.

Lastly, Fox has dropped two new behind-the-scenes featurettes (via ComingSoon), detailing a couple of setpieces from the movie. So, even more footage to check out there. 'Days Of Future Cameos' opens on May 23rd.
