10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesAnd indeed, Catwoman in "The Dark Knight Rises" is far cry from Eartha Kitt or even Michelle Pfeiffer's memorable turn in Tim Burton's "Batman Returns" (the less said about the Halle Berry incarnation, the better). Fitting into Chris and Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer's textured world, where superheroes carry with them emotional and psychological complexities, Selina Kyle battles doing something for the greater good versus her own survival and self-interest. There's a lot to potentially explore, and Hathaway certainly brought an easily one note character the depth the role and movie required, but will she step into the latex again?
"I'm interested if he's interested," she told Digital Spy when asked about Nolan's comments above. "I think it would be lovely to see more of her but only if it's with the right people. She lives in this Gotham City and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least."
So, basically, don't get your hopes up. However, it would be naive to think that Warner Bros. won't be kicking the idea around the old conference table in the weeks to come, and perhaps hoping that Nolan will take on some kind of executive producer/godfather position as he did on "Man Of Steel" to help move along a Catwoman movie. That beind said, "The Dark Knight Rises" as a film -- and as a trilogy altogether -- is so calibrated and contained, that breaking out of it would be challenging task to make it feel organic. Can it be done? Would you like to a Hathaway-led "Catwoman" movie? Let us know below.

Do it, make a catwoman movie, theres so many people out there that talk nonsense about it being boring and that it won't be good enough! But hey I'm only 15 and I thought the movie was great. A Catwoman movie would be a hit, the cherry on top :)

I think Anne Hathaway should be in a stand alone Catwoman film. It could be it's own, but in the beginning it could have some what of an origin, and then maybe what she could have been doing during The Dark Knight Rises, like an Interquel if you will, And maybe explore her world more. And I think Christian Bale should have a cameo, to ensure continuity, and maybe it could explore their relationship more.

That would be a great idea... I think with Anne Hathaway the movie would be fascinating. She played the role in an extraordinary way that left me wanting more, much more.

One thing I've noticed is that people seem to be really confused as to what catwoman is. Anne Hathaway didn't play Catwoman, she played The Cat. Now I haven't read the comics, but I understand that The Cat was Catwoman's former self when she was a cat burglar, stealing what she needed and giving to those in need, similar to a Robin Hood character. When Bruce is looking through police files in TDKR, it says 'THE CAT STEALS ___' etc etc. The name 'Catwoman' is never mentioned. Selina even says herself she gives to those in need in the film, and Bruce replies basically saying how similar she is to Robin Hood.
Michelle's intepretation is not the "right" one, so leave Anne alone.
Anyway, if there was a Anne Hathaway Catwoman film, I'd be first in line.
Anne did a great job and I'd love to see more.

TO, the dude:
Yeah, it was a little too real, real boring. My children didn't even enjoy it, and to think that some people lost their lives while going to view this piece of shit. Is that real enough, this shit was false advertistment, children went to see this movie, thinking that they would enjoy it, but they were sadly mistaken. Why not slap a R rating on your films so yound children would have stayed home instead. This movie sucked and it was real enough to make children bored...

Julia newmar was a geat cat woman, but Anne Hathaway has the body of a 14 year old boy, cat woman should have a jessica Rabbit type of body, like Mrs. Newmar's. Mrs. Berry had the right type of body, but people complained about her color. The world is so racist, they should have placed beyonce or Jennifer Lopez to play the role, but I knew that wouldn't happen. Michelle Pfeiffer was an amazing cat woman and she looked great and she can also act as well. Anne Hathaway shouldn't have been given this role, please give us a sexier woman to play the role.

Anne Hathaway makes an excellent catwoman character in the Dark Knight Series. She is beautiful, hot and looks evil in her suit. I hope and Catwoman and Batman be married someday in the series, just like Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Prequel set between DK and DKR could work.
Unnecessary, but could work..

She really did a fantastic job with this role. When she was first announced, I was a bit disappointed, as I selfishly wanted a hotter girl like Megan Fox. Thank God they went with Anne Hathaway. Her acting was probably better than anyone else's could have been for this role, AND I now find her beyond sexy. Another movie would be cool, but it would have to be a prequel, as the character is really complicated and could stand on her own, but her character came to an end, hopefully, with the way TDKR ended with Selina and Bruce becoming a couple and leaving their alter egos behind.

Right people = Nolan and his crew.

Id probably prefer a Nightwing movie but this could be good too. There's been some awesome Catwoman graphic novels over the years that could provide good basis. Catwoman When in Rome certainly seems like it could be a logical starting point given the ending of TDKR. Definitely keep it in the Nolanverse but keep the crossover characters to a minimum

lol, you mean the "right money."

Rather see a Nightwing movie with Joseph Gordon Levitt.

Genuinely don't mean to troll, but that sentence is grammatically incoherent.

She was used in the perfect capacity in TDKR. I think anything else would be gilding the lily.
Connor | July 23, 2012 1:05 PM
As much as I love to see one, It won't happen due to the ending and Nolan moving on from Batman. But I would love to see a romance film between Christian Bale & Anne Hathaway.
rodie | July 23, 2012 12:53 PM
Without spoilers, wouldn't a Catwoman film need to be a prequel? And those are so tricky to do and make engaging when you already know the outcome. Sure, it could take place post-TDKR, but then you have the problem of Bale...

I liked Michelle Pfeiffer's performance in Tim Burton's "Batman Returns" , but her role and her performance is completely different from the comic books ( she was never a lunatic with nine lives and always talking with a " purr"). Anne Hathaway is probably my most favorite film version of Catwoman, not just because it was written, but also because of Hathaway's great turn. Anne pulled-off the dark humor, the strength, sexiness, and the dangerous aspect of Catwoman. Plus, she perfectly delivered her lines in the manner of Catwoman.
I have to agree with Anne, that she has to have the same people involved ( or most of the same people) to pull-off a quality flick.

The Catwoman character was so underdeveloped in the TDKR it was actually kind of embarassing. Maybe a new movie version will do the character justice.
