Given how long this film has been brewing, we'd been worried that like so many projects, it might be stuck in development hell or have trouble finding financing. But the good news is that Jim Jarmusch's vampire film "Only Lovers Left Alive" is still happening, and has added one more name to the already fantastic cast.

Continuing his switch-up between blockbuster fare ("Star Trek") and indie projects ("Like Crazy"), Anton Yelchin has joined Mia Wasikowska, John Hurt and Tilda Swinton in the film. Details on the project are scarce, but the story is said to revolve around "a centuries-long love affair between two star-crossed vampires." Sounds great, and frankly, we're just curious and excited as hell to see what Jarmusch's take on the genre will be. Will be an existential jaunt like "The Limits Of Control" or something a bit more comic like "Ghost Dog: The Way Of Samurai"?

Production on the film begins this summer with shooting to take place in Germany, and our guess is that the Cannes Film Festival already has a slot open for the helmer next spring. [Deadline

Perfect cast. Anton yelchin is an incredible actor and very underrated.

The Limits of Control is sleepable, hopefully and kinda sure that this interesting project is supposed to be not that slow. Anton Yelchin is kinda similar as Emile Hirsch (who is more mature) or for the bunch of young telants adorable actors, need some awesome scripts or people in their careers, then meanwhile they also do films financially, for example Yelchin's You and I, Hirsch's The Darkest Hour.

Forest Whitaker (if true), Mia W. and Tilda Swinton in the same movie...*ovaries explode*

If the Hanway Films blog is to be believed, Forest Whitaker is in this as well.

They removed him from the site. Reps for Whitaker tell us it's inaccurate (which probably just means he's in discussions, etc. but no deal has been made yet; it still could though).

Good addition to an already phenomenal cast. Now quit lollygagging and SHOOT THE DAMN THING ALREADY.
