Remember "Assassins," the action thriller with Stallone and Antonio Banderas, penned by The Wachowskis (who ultimately wanted their names taken off the movie) and Brian Helgeland and directed by Richard Donner? Well, if you've been dreaming of a Banderas/Stallone reteam, so has Sly. Catching up with Banderas doing the rounds for "Puss In Boots," Sandwich John Films asked the actor if Sly had given him a ring about the upcoming action flick.
"They asked me to do it, I don't think at this point I will have the time," he said. "I am very disappointed that it didn't work out. But you never know I will have to talk to Sly." So there you...maybe he will have another shot when they make the inevitable "The Expendables 3." And in case you missed it, Mickey Rourke is also confirmed not to be in the next installment either. So who is?
Well, you can expect to see Stallone, Randy Couture, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Scott Adkins, Liam Hemsworth and more likely to be announced/confirmed in the Simon West directed movie that hits on August 17, 2012.

Kurt Russels, as kind badass TODD from the actionmovie "Soldier"
and few MMA fighters too. could be good in the Expendables 2.

i'm sorry to hear travolta and cage and banderas aren't in this film and that's ok. if they do a third one and they are in it i hope it will be good. they should ask kurt russell to be in expendables 2. he hasn't done a good action movie in 4 or 5 years.

It is unfortunate that Antonio Banderas, Nicolas Cage and John Travolta won't be appearing in 'The Expendables 2'. I would have liked to see them in it.
I’m sure that a press release is imminent with an official announcement for the cast, plot, etc. It would be good if they include Jackie Chan, Steven Seagal, Michael Jai White, Kurt Angle and Bill Goldberg.

This is a rather informative, though not so subtle, and yet harsh article. "Meat head heavy" and "Ben Gay"! Really?? I really hate it when pencil pushers like yourself take unnecessary shots below the belt when it comes to our on-screen elders. Do you express yourself like this when you talk about your parents/grand-parents, etc??? SHAME ON YOU! ....The time will come when the tables will turn!
