10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesWith the market at the Berlin Film Festival about to kick into full swing, Summit and Emmett/Furla Films will be tempting buyers with "The Tomb," and they've confirmed the rumors that surfaced a couple of weeks ago that Arnie and Sly will star. But that's not all. After bouncing around a couple of directors including "I Saw The Devil" helmer Kim Ji-woon and Antoine Fuqua, the relatively anonymous Mikael Håfström ("1408," "The Rite," the eternally shelved "Shanghai") will now get behind the camera.
Penned by Miles Chapman (”Road House 2”) with a rewrite by Jason Keller (”Machine Gun Preacher”), the story follows Ray Breslin (Stallone), a security expert who designed an inescapable, high-tech prison only to be framed for a crime and locked up in it. Arnie will play the standard hardened inmate with a heart of gold.
We have mixed feelings on this. The concept is kind of dumb, but also has the potential to be "Commando"-style fun (brainless, but stupidly entertaining). But it needs to be approached with some flair and that's hardly a word that could be used to describe Håfström, so we'll just have to wait and see how it all shakes out. [Deadline]
