You may have forgotten, but Marvel was always planning on taking a couple more dollars out of your Iron Man wallet by converting "The Avengers" to 3D. Today that plan seems even more official, as "The Avengers" shall forth be known as "The Avengers 3D." The movie is already looking busy with Thor, Tony Stark, Hawkeye, Captain America, Loki, Pepper Potts, Bruce Banner, Phil Coulson and Nick Fury all running around doing stuff, so we're not we need this thing in some hastily coverted 3D to further fry our eyeballs, but to quote David Fincher, to each his own.

The flick is already riding in on a pretty tight production schedule, and we're not sure why any studio would decide to rush a 3D conversion when so much of the chatter these days is about shooting in the format to get it right or allowing enough post-production time to do a good job. But those extra dollars from less savvy audiences, we suppose, are too hard to resist. So choose your format and watch your heroes assemble on May 4, 2012.

Meanwhile, remember over the summer when Pixar set the date for November 27, 2013 for a mystery blockbuster movie that won't be a sequel? Well, it's now called "Frozen 3D" and it's about dinosaurs. Or not. Seems there is some confusion but we suppose it'll be cleared up eventually and it's the new title of "Snow Queen," a project Disney have been developing for a while now. The new date bumps the dinosaur movie, which remains somewhere in development. And speaking of mysteries, Marvel has moved their still unannounced superhero movie, originally dated for June 27, 2014, to April 4, 2014. No idea what it is just yet, but probably "Captain America 2" if we were betting men. So mark your calendars folks, and let the guessing begin. [Deadline]
