Music rights are complicated, and as such, often official soundtrack releases don't include all the songs that are featured in a film. And so it goes for David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook." While the official disc runs fourteen tracks and includes key tunes by Stevie Wonder, Dave Brubeck, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and more, the movie features even more.

Ranging from rock 'n roll offerings from Led Zeppelin and The White Stripes, to classic tunes from Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra and more, the film has a pretty varied musical backdrop. And it nicely plays against the up-and-down relationship of its lead characters, played winningly by Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, that seems go from tentative friendship to something more, all while their families offer cautious support.

As you might already know, this is a movie we really loved, and if it comes near you this holiday weekend, seek it out. Full list of songs below.

    Missing song perhaps?

Early in the movie --- He's running in the rain, and there's a song that plays briefly that sounds a bit like, but is not, Nina Simone. In the film credits, it was displayed in the upper right hand corner of the playlist. I didn't catch it.

So many different types of songs, fit for the messy quirky ambience of this film.

David O Russell must have some connections as he also got a Led Zep track licensed for The Fighter.
