Blood & The Beach Feature In New Images From 'Rust And Bone' With Marion Cotillard & Matthias Schoenaerts

After receiving rave reviews for his last two features, “The Beat That My Heart Skipped” and “A Prophet,” Jacques Audiard’s latest film “Rust & Bone” is only a couple of months away from release in the U.K. (November 2nd) and a limited run in the U.S. (November 16th). Sony Pictures Classics is handling the domestic distribution and they’ll likely be hoping that the film will gain enough buzz to bring it some Oscar glory.

The film stars Matthias Schoenaerts ("Bullhead") as Ali, a single father who falls for Marion Cotillard’s killer whale trainer Stephanie. Their relationship is deeply altered after Stephanie suffers a horrific accident. There will be no prizes for guessing what the effects of that accident are though after you take a look at this bumper batch of new images from the film.

They’re an eclectic set, which go some way to getting across the tone of what we called a “beautiful, moving story” after seeing the film at Cannes. We awarded Audiard’s latest an A-, so hopefully, marketing like this coupled with good reviews will help the film find a wider audience and maybe even break out into some of the other categories come awards season. Here’s hoping. [HeyUGuys]
