You might as well consider "The Raid" one of the most hotly buzzed genre movies of next year. Arriving like a nuclear bomb at TIFF in the fall, the Gareth Evans-directed film wowed Midnight Madness crowds, was quickly snatched up by Sony who will remake it under their Screen Gems shingle, and release the original via Sony Pictures Classics. And while we patiently wait for this one to roll into cinemas sometime in 2012, an Indonesian trailer for the movie has dropped, and as always, the lesson here is don't tinker with what works.

After the movie was picked up at TIFF, Sony unveiled a new trailer that was also buffed up by a new score by Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda. And yeah, it was pretty flaccid. Well, this new and definitely NSFW trailer -- which is pretty much indentical -- has the original score by Aria Prayogi and Fajar Yuskemal, which is a far superior fit. Yeah, it's all wailing guitars and standard rock 'n roll tropes, but it cuts so much better here than Shinoda's wispy effort does. Once again, memo to producers, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Anyway, check out the new international trailer and then compare it to the Shinoda scored version. They really don't compare. One gets your pulse racing, the other makes you question who the fuck even listens to Linkin Park anymore. [Twitch]

Wow people! Really!!?? I don't care if you like LP or not, there's no way that the second trailer comes close to the first. I was hyped after the first trailer and then slowly brought down while watching the second. It was like watching two different trailers completely. If the producers are smart they'll keep Shinoda's music off the trailer.....it only hurts it.

    playlist you mad lol

this music sounded like generic rock music

    shinoda's music actually sounded good

No, no. The music on the second trailer started promising and then just went all Linkin Park-y, falling really flat and monotone during the action despite the roaring chorus in the background.

Agree with shawn.......the music is OK .....it's a different story if you are a linkin park hater.

I actually like the music that Mike Shinoda did for this trailer, so...not sure what you guys are talking about. Don't hate on his music just because you dislike Linkin Park lol.

the music in the second trailer posted above is my personal preference.

I swear the music on the second trailer (which you say is new) was the same on the trailer you guys posted for this months back. I watched the first trailer (the ones you say is the original) and didn't like it because of the music. Second is much better but again this could just be because I was already familiar with it.
