Bradley Cooper

Earlier today we ran a feature on actors who should possibly fire their agents and set their careers in a new direction. But one guy who doesn't need that advice is Bradley Cooper. The actor will definitely turn heads in David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook" next month, and he'll reteam with the helmer for his next feature shooting early in 2013. Plus, next year he features in Derek Cianfrance's "The Place Beyond The Pines" and Susanne Bier's "Serena" (and of course, he's back for one last run with the Wolfpack in "The Hangover Part III"). He's staying the course of working with interesting talent and material.

Cooper is in talks to star with Emma Stone in Cameron Crowe's untitled next film, a reworking of his long-gestating "Deep Tiki," a movie that Crowe initially lined up to direct in 2008, with Reese Witherspon and Ben Stiller. The plot involves a military contractor presumed dead after an incident in Afghanistan. He actually survived, but he rejects his former life and has only his best friend, a supercomputer called Jeremy, for company. He's assigned to a top-secret military satellite launch in Hawaii, and sets out with an uptight military liaison to get a blessing from local spiritual leaders who believe a prophecy involving the gods Lomo and Pele is about to come to pass.

High concept, but having gone through a rewrite, it's unclear how much as changed (or not) in the new draft. Things are moving quickly, with the project set to shoot next spring with Scott Rudin producing. Presumably this means it will roll once Cooper is done with his reteam with Russell, but before Stone gets involved in the shoot for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" (both movies are set up at Sony). But, Cooper + Stone + Crowe? Sign us up. [Deadline]

As much I love Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence, I think both are wrong to be love interest. I mean,... actress that have 30 years are old now???

  • Sara | October 31, 2012 8:33 PM

I am not an old bitch. I was born 24 august of 1990.... So, I have same age Jennifer Lawrence has....

  • ... | October 25, 2012 11:35 PM

    Fuck off.

  • Yod | October 25, 2012 11:07 PM

Have you two old bitches finished yapping yet?

  • coke | October 25, 2012 5:44 PM

Sara , thanks for your explanation. You're right I didn't quite understood what you said. Unfortunately I'll have to agree with you , this is truly an awful tendency.

Sara: I totally agree. It seems like the shelf life for lead female actresses is getting shorter and shorter while their male counterparts get older. Cooper is 37 with Lawrence 21 (at the time of filming) and Stone is 23. They couldn't get someone a little closer to his age-maybe even *gasp* someone on the wrong side of 25! Or a younger male lead. No wonder the incredibly talented Jessica Chastain was shaving 5 years of her age until recently. The sexism and ageism towards woman in Hollywood is dreadful.

You didn't understand what I said.
What I am saying is Emma Stone(23) and Jennifer Lawrence(22) are both young to play a Bradley's love interest . Why they don't go to Hayley Atwell, Olivia Wilde, Andrea Riseborough, Julie Stiles Olga Kurlkenko, and others actress that have 30 years old. I mean, he may not look but he is 37. I don't find wrong they go to Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone, may be my frustation is that I am kind tired to see same old faces.

  • coke | October 25, 2012 7:49 AM

    What do you mean??
Anne Hathaway is 30 years old and is not considered old. We have many others examples. Are you saying that a young actress can't play a love interest?? I don't see your point.

The surname Cooper only has two O's not three. Check the title of your article. I still need to see and review 'Silver Linings Playbook.' This film, from what I hear, is catapulting Bradley Cooper into serious actor mode.

To check out my movie reviews, simply Google my name. Cheers!

I hope Emma Stone doesn't give the same acting performance, that she gives in all her movies. She still has not given us something new.

I feel like if stoned had been in Elizabethtown, with another male lead, that would've been a whole nother movie. I always saw Dunst role as an Emma Stone role...
