Is the rhetoric, non-stop ads, punditry and more from the election getting you down? Well, after tomorrow it will all be over and at the end of the week you can head to the multiplex to watch how one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history got things done. Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" is on the way, and a new U.K. trailer for the movie offers a bigger, better look at the picture that will surely be in the hunt for Oscar gold.
As you know, Daniel Day-Lewis puts on the beard in the title role that will find him fighting to pass the 13th amendment in the fading days of the Civil War. Of course he faces opposition and tough road to get the votes he needs. While that may sound like a C-SPAN special snoozer, the film looks impressively lensed, and features a number of great actors (Tommy Lee Jones, David Strathairn among many others) looking like they're meeting DDL's performance at each turn. In short, this might be the most excited we've been for the movie yet.
"Lincoln" opens in limited release starting this Friday, November 9th, closes AFI Fest next week and opens wide on November 16th. Watch below. [The Guardian]
