Even though they have an Oscar under their belt for Alexander Payne's "The Descendants," screenwriters Nat Faxon and Jim Rash will be at Park City next month as newbie directors, with their feature debut "The Way, Way Back" ready to unpsool. We got our first look at the movie in August, but now another new snap has arrived of Sam Rockwell, who stars in the flick alongside a pretty solid cast including Steve Carell, Maya Rudolph, AnnaSophia Robb, Allison Janney, Rob Corddry and more. Here's the synopsis: Duncan, an introverted 14-year-old, comes into his own over the course of a comedic summer when he forms unlikely friendships with the gregarious manager of a rundown water park and the misfits who work there.

Not much happens in the small town of Suddenly. Once named after its hustle and bustle atmosphere, it has since settled into your typical, sleepy, average American burg. It's the kind of place where beat cop Tod Shaw (Sterling Hayden) knows everyone, and any strange face passing through stands out. But in the space of a few hours, over a single afternoon, the lives of a handful of people will change dramatically thanks to one determined, deranged man. While it might not be the flashiest B-movie of the era, Lewis Allen's "Suddenly" is a tight, extraordinarly lean little thriller that succeeds far beyond what you would expect of its modest production.

Remember that “Highlander” remake that literally nobody was crying out for, that may or may not be set to star everyone’s favorite alliterative actor Ryan Rodney Reynolds? Well, it looks like Summit is now going to be looking for a new director to shepherd the project. Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (“28 Weeks Later”) had been on board for over a year (after departing another remake, “The Crow”) but has now left the project after battling with Summit over their views on the film.

Earlier today we sat down with Jason Clarke, the Australian actor who plays a tough-as-nails CIA interrogator in Kathryn Bigelow's blindingly brilliant "Zero Dark Thirty." Clarke also stars in Baz Lurhmann's ambitious 3D version of "The Great Gatsby," which was originally slated to hit theaters this month but was pushed back to next summer, amidst a flurry of wild speculation. We had to ask him how the film is coming and if there was any truth to the rumors of the film being in post-production trouble.

While not as hotly contested as many of the major awards this holiday season, the International Animation Film Society announced the nominees for its 40th Annual Annie Awards yesterday, and offer, at the very least, a peak at what the Best Animated Feature Oscar race will look like in the next couple of months. Pixar's Scottish fairy tale "Brave," Disney's retro video game adventure "Wreck-It Ralph" and DreamWorks Animation's mythological team-up film "Rise of the Guardians" led the nominations with ten nominations a piece.

Screenwriters, actors and directors all do their best to try and capture the teenage experience, but it's a difficult one to replicate with any degree of authenticity. Teens can be both open and mercurial, stubborn and vulnerable and sometimes just a complete mystery, and their feelings and actions can only be understood if you've been through it yourself. For every John Hughes movie, the rare director to have captured that voice so perfectly, there are dozens more films that just don't quite get it. But for directors Jason Tippet and Elizabeth Mims, they wisely realized that teens themselves are the best subjects for the camera.

Last time Matt Damon, star of the original 'Bourne' trilogy, was out doing press, he said he hadn't seen "The Bourne Legacy," this past summer's extensive reboot of the franchise that placed Jeremy Renner at the center of the action. The film upped the franchise's science-factual underpinnings by having Renner's character (part of the next generation of government-sanctioned killers) controlled by a series of drugs that would boost his reflexes and intelligence. When we spoke with Damon about the sequel/prequel yesterday, during the actor's press rounds for the upcoming "Promised Land," he did confirm that he's seen the movie but said that it might make it harder for him to re-enter the franchise.
