Damn, as far as indie movie hand offs go, this one is pretty great. So, Mark Ruffalo can no longer do your movie? How about John Hawkes instead? That's precisely what's happening with "Low Down," the developing jazz biopic focused on Joe Albany.

Well, Aunt Patty and Aunt Selma are going to be thrilled. While it might seem new, a movie about "MacGyver" has been brewing for years (at one point, the show's creator tried to sue to stop the release of "MacGruber") and it's now kicking back to life.

It's been quite a year for Anne Hathaway, and for any actress, toplining (and some would argue stealing the show) Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" would have been more than enough. But the actress just hosted "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend (featuring that Rihanna performance against a desktop screensaver from seven years ago) and is getting into the Oscar fray with "Les Misérables." And next year? If all goes according to plan, she'll be working with a guy you may have heard of named Steven Spielberg.

Yes, the drunken night of hijinks has been done to death, and the genre doesn't lend itself well to bold reinvention. But, you know what? When it works and is executed with flair, it's still a stupid good time, and while "21 & Over" makes no mistake that it's coming from Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the writers of "The Hangover" (making their directorial debut), that doesn't mean we didn't chuckle ourselves silly watching the first trailer.
