Five years later, we're finally getting a follow-up from the Spanish director, with his much-anticipated and long-in-the-works tsunami drama "The Impossible" selected to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Images from that big Toronto announcement this morning keep coming, and two adult-minded thrillers from stars-turned-directors are next up. We had the first look at Robert Redford's "The Company You Keep" yesterday, with images of Redford (who plays the lead role, a '60s radical on the run), Shia LaBeouf (the journalist pursuing him) and Brit Marling (Redford's daughter). Now a new picture of Redford, this time being pursued at night, has arrived on the TIFF website along with the first look of Susan Sarandon in the film. The film is getting a gala premiere but not a world premiere, suggesting heavily that it's likely to be bowing at Venice, as rumored, a week or two beforehand -- that news should be confirmed on Thursday.

Love is both the simplest and most complex of human emotions. We fall into it so easily, and it can take us to dizzying, indescribable highs and if and when it ends, to bottomless lows, but the remarkable thing is that most of us are able to recover, and begin that search all over again. We look for that person who will, to borrow a movie cliché, complete us, but what happens if one day that perfect companion literally appears out of thin air? And what if that person has every quality you would want in a partner? That's the question at the heart of the whimsical "Ruby Sparks," the long awaited new film from "Little Miss Sunshine" directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, led by real life couple Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan, the latter of whom wrote the script.

Pretty soon, the Minions are going to be everywhere. The weird little goggle-wearing, pill-shaped, yellow henchmen of super-villain Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) in 2010's surprise smash "Despicable Me," who speak in a bizarre made-up language and were, largely, the best part of that movie, are about to get their own spin-off. Deadline is reporting that Universal and Chris Meledandri's Illumination will make "The Minions" their fifth collaboration, opening in the summer of 2014.
