Even as this week's "Silent Hill: Revelations" creeps into theaters, the search for a good -- or at least watchable -- video game movie continues. But game titans Ubisoft are at least being pro-active, taking a leaf from Marvel's approach and deciding to develop and partially finance their own movies, starting with one of their own crown jewels, the "Assassin's Creed" franchise.

Summit is hoping they can catch lightning in bottle again with the upcoming Jonathan Levine-helmed adaptation of the zombie-romance novel “Warm Bodies” and they’re getting ball rolling on their marketing campaign with the first poster for the 2013 film.

If anyone knows how to toe the line between the dark and funny, it's Werner Herzog. In both his documentaries and features, the director often sheds a light on the absurdities of even the most harrowing of situations involving his characters, and he's signed up to helm a new project that will once again find him in uniquely tricky territory.

It's simple math. "Paranormal Activity 4" cost $5 million to make, opened to $56 million worldwide this weekend = "Paranormal Activity 5" getting the greenlight. If you keep going to these, they're gonna keep making 'em....

The big question around "The Wolverine" -- besides whether or not it will scrub "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" from our memory -- is it how it will or won't fit into the original "X-Men" trilogy or the new "X-Men: First Class" series. And now, we may have a clue.

Anti-fracking screed or portrait of small town America trying to survive in today's topsy-turvy economy? Maybe both perhaps, but there's no doubt that when Matt Damon and John Krasinski's "Promised Land" arrives at the end of the year, it will spark many discussions .

The trailer for Disney/Marvel's "Iron Man 3" debuts in mere days (Tuesday, October 23), which means, of course, something has to hit first, and that something is a teaser trailer, or perhaps more accurately, a 17-second trailer for the trailer. It doesn't reveal much, though it does show Pepper Potts in pain, potentially being tortured, which we suppose means she's finally part of the storyline in a more significant way. It also shows Tony Stark's latest Iron Man armor (mark 7? It's hard to keep up). The "Iron Man 3" synopsis was released late last week and it's as vague as humanly possible: Tony Stark is challenged, has to face secrets that have haunted him all along, blah, blah, etc. etc. Here it is if you're curious.

From the filmmaker behind the star-crossed lovers fromage of "Dear John" (director Lasse Hallström) and the author of "The Notebook" (Nicholas Sparks, who also wrote "Dear John") comes the latest in Harlequin-esque romance for the screen, "Safe Haven." Starring Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough with a supporting cast that includes Cobie Smulders and David Lyons, "Safe Haven" is being touted as a romantic thriller, or according to distributors Relativity Media, an "affirming and suspenseful story about a young woman’s struggle to love again." Color yourself intrigued.
