It seems to be the day for untitled movies getting some brand new names. This morning we learned that Terrence Malick's untitled romance is now called "To The Wonder," and now another filmmaker (and one who was also rumored for a Cannes appearance before the lineup was unveiled) has put a title on his gestating project as well.

While Cannes will be hosting all kinds of celebs this week as they walk down the red carpet, eat at restaurants where the final bill is our rent for the month and shop in the kind of fancy boutiques that we're not even allowed into, at least there will be the presence (cinematically, if not personally) of Quentin Dupieux and Marilyn Manson to shake things up. That's right, the shock rocker is the star of the French filmmaker's latest bonkers exursion "Wrong Cops" and a trailer has arrived. And yes, it's delightfully fucked up.

Garnering a considerable amount of attention after its appearance at the Sundance Film Festival (chatter was both good and bad -- this writer loved it), Rick Alverson's "The Comedy" will finally be unleashed to non-festival plebeians come this October thanks to Tribeca Film.

It was seven years ago that Amy Adams broke out in "Junebug" and she hasn't looked back since. Showing that she can move from drama to comedy to romance with ease, the actress has proven to be one of the most talented and versatile of her generation. Need evidence? Watch "The Fighter" and then "The Muppets." Or maybe here three Oscar nominations will be enough to convince you. At any rate, 2012 is shaping up to be banner year for Adams. "On The Road" premieres in Cannes next week, she's been busy lensing "Trouble With The Curve" alongside a guy named Clint Eastwood, later this year she'll be working with Spike Jonze on his untitled romance and then there's a movie called "The Master" you might have heard of opening this fall. And now, she's putting another project on the table.

Well, this is finally happening: Kenneth Lonergan's "Margaret," the long-delayed, much discussed, often troubled drama about a young girl (Anna Paquin) who accidentally causes a horrific bus accident, is finally making its way onto DVD and Blu-ray in July. This is great news for anyone who missed the movie's brief theatrical release last fall, but even better news for fans of the film (we are a small group, but we're very vocal). As The New Yorker reports, the film will be available in both the original theatrical cut (which ran two-and-a-half-hours) alongside a new director's cut (with an additional 36 minutes of footage), presumably in a two-disc edition, on DVD at least. So all those dangling subplots and unresolved conflicts may not be dangling and unresolved for much longer .

Fresh off the Oscar-nominated success of "The Descendants," Alexander Payne is currently en route to Cannes, where he'll serve on the competition jury alongside the likes of Andrea Arnold, Diane Kruger, Ewan McGregor, Jean-Paul Gaultier and chairman Nanni Moretti. But it looks like our favorite David Strathairn impersonator made a big decision before he got on the plane to the South of France: as he's apparently decided on who he'd like to star in his next film.

With Cannes set to kick off tomorrow, one of the hottest tickets in town will be David Cronenberg's Robert Pattinson-starrer "Cosmopolis." The latest freaky entry from the director sewed up North American distribution with EOne at the beginning of the month, with a promise of a release arriving this summer. As it turns out for folks in Canada and the U.K., it will just be a matter of weeks before you'll be able to see the film.

After making his directorial debut four decades ago with “Fists in the Pocket,” Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio has tackled many genres and styles, but one consistent characteristic has been his savage socio-political themes and undertones. His 2010 film, “Vincere,” proved to be the most explosive yet, capturing disgraced Italian leader Benito Mussolini’s rise to power from his abandoned wife’s perspective, and now he plans to do it again, this time with one of the world’s most talented actresses in tow.

It appears things are finally moving on the long gestating supernatural-crime thriller, "Solace," which Anthony Hopkins has been attached to since last fall. In case you need a refresher, the film will follow a psychic doctor, played by Hopkins, who works for the FBI and is on the trail of a serial killer. And this movie has been in the works forever with a batch of writers (Ted Griffin, Sean Bailey, James Vanderbilt), actors (Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis) and directors (Shekhar Kapur, Mark Pellington) coming and going at various points.
