From indie California punks to mainstream rock 'n rollers whose latest album is available at your nearest convenience store (seriously), Green Day have certainly come a long way in their career, which has spanned more than two decades. From grimy basement gigs to selling out arenas worldwide to even conquering the Broadway stage (with the "American Idiot" production), what can they possibly do next? How about providing the soundtrack to a long-running crime procedural on network television? Um, okay.

It's a good news/bad news sort of thing with Lifetime's brewing remake/retelling/whatever of "Bonnie & Clyde." So let's just get it into it...

Last night at Peggy Siegal's "Argo" soiree in Manhattan, celebs and news luminaries were out in full force to celebrate director Ben Affleck's latest, a politically intriguing thriller and Hollywood satire based on true life events in the late '70s that were only declassified by the CIA 15 years ago.

For weeks, FX has been hinting at the second season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck's insanely popular (and just plain insane) "American Horror Story" with a series of bizarre and elliptical teasers. Well, the series returns next week (!) and they have finally started releasing teasers that actually give us a taste of what this new season, subtitled "Asylum" and set largely in a mental institution in the early sixties, is all about. Anyone worried that the series ran out of outrageousness in season one will be soothed by the amount of crazy in this teaser.

There is probably no comedy on television right now more loved or more daring than "Louie." The brainchild of Louis C.K., the show has, over the course of three seasons, been defined by many as a groundbreaking, somewhat visionary program that has redefined the rules of what a comedy should be. Both grounded and surreal, the show has been a critical darling, gained a fervent following, and recently earned its first Emmy for Outstanding Writer. And while the buzz couldn't be louder, it looks like Louis C.K. needs a bit of a break.

While technically speaking, Lee Unkrich's soulful "Toy Story 3" was the last entry in the hugely successful franchise, Disney and Pixar have kept the brand alive and well. There's the popular Toy Story Midway Mania ride operating on either coasts at both Disney California Adventure and Disney's Hollywood Studio and the series of "Toy Story Toons" short films that have appeared in front of "The Muppets," "Cars 2" and the 3D re-release of "Finding Nemo" (each of them beautiful and emotionally complex trifles). Taking the 'Toons' one step further will be a brand new holiday special, timed for Halloween next year, called "Toy Story of Terror," which will air on Disney-owned networks in time for the witching season.

Holy shit, the '90s right? And while the decade that gave us grunge, gangsta rap, wallet chains, Quentin Tarantino knockoffs, Guy Ritchie knockoffs, Pogs and all kinds of other stuff, is experiencing a bit of a nostalgia wave, thanks to every indie band who released an album between 1990 and 1999 reuniting, one group that won't be getting back together is the "Freaks & Geeks" crew. Though the resurrection of "Arrested Development" has given hope to every canceled show out there, creators Judd Apatow and Paul Feig have revealed they aren't likely to go down that path.

Brie Larson Lands Guest Spot On 'Community' As Season 4 Start Gets Delayed

It hasn't been an easy ride for the critically loved, but mainstream-ignored "Community." After NBC put season three on a hiatus midstream, many wondered if the show would even return. And while it has (losing creator Dan Harmon, bitterly, in the process), it has come in the form of a shortened, thirteen episode season four, which seems to indicate it's the last gasp for the program. And the woes for the show may not be over, as the network are still trying to figure out what do with it.

It may not have grossed quite as much as “Bridesmaids,” but “Bad Teacher” was one of the films to ride on the wave of success of recent R-rated comedies despite being little more than mediocre (see also “Horrible Bosses”) and still earn over $200m at the global box office. Those numbers aren’t to be sniffed at, and as well as boosting the careers of many of those involved with the film there have been efforts to exploit the film itself further.

While foreign filmmakers dipping their toes into Hollywood waters can have mixed results, it looks like "Miss Bala" helmer Gerardo Naranjo is off to a great start with his brewing FX series "The Bridge." He's already nabbed Diane Kruger to take on the female lead role, and now he's got her male co-star, and it's an actor we're always keen to see more of.
