This weekend, there are a couple of events of notice taking place on the small screen, both on Sunday night. The biggest of course is the Golden Globes (our predicted winners here), which will find Tina Fey and Amy Poehler overseeing the festivities. And while Lena Dunham will be in attendance, hoping that "Girls" takes home an award for either Best Television Series - Comedy or Best Actress, over on HBO the second season of the show will be kicking off. And a new clip from the first episode has arrived.

Surely, the first thing that came to people’s minds when they heard Disney bought out Lucasfilm was the possibility of more "Star Wars" films. That one was a given. Well, it turns out that Disney has much more in mind than just another "Star Wars" trilogy, how about a live action TV series as well?

We’ve recently had (sadly false) rumors of a “Twin Peaks” return, and Netflix’s “Hemlock Grove” (trailer here) looks like it has a very "Twin Peaks"-y vibe to accompany those genre elements too, and now Fox has a show that's said to be “evocative of 'Twin Peaks'” from the twistmeister general himself, M. Night Shyamalan. “Wayward Pines” (even the name screams “Twin Peaks”) will apparently be a 10-12 part event series that the network anticipates getting on the air within the next 12-24 months.

Jason Schwartzman has already collaborated with his cousin Roman Coppola several times, more recently in the upcoming comedy “A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III.” But while Schwartzman plays supporting roles in Coppola's latest feature-length film as well as his previous one, “CQ,” the actor would be taking on more central responsibilities in two of Coppola’s prospective upcoming projects.

Perhaps second only to the finale of "Breaking Bad," the big TV event of 2013 right now is the return of "Arrested Development." Due later this spring from Netflix, fans have been taking any morsel of info they can get as exact plot details remain under wraps. There hasn't been a trailer yet, though the DVD/streaming company did tease fans around Christmas by putting up artwork for the numerous fake shows that have appeared in "Arrested Development" to date. But creator Mitch Hurwitz has offered up a few more bits and bobs about what the show will deliver, and why we're not going to see every character in every episode.

One of the most interesting projects unspooling at the Sundance Film Festival isn't an indie film, a foreign movie or a documentary -- it's a TV miniseries, from an acclaimed auteur. Jane Campion will be in Park City to present -- in full, in one sitting -- her seven-part, six-hour "Top Of The Lake." And if you can't be there, a handful of new images have arrived to give you a sneak peek at the show.
