Review: 'The Immigrant'While plot details are under wraps, if we were judge this based on the very limited images we've seen thus far, it seems Malick is making a video for the Beach Boys or something. Okay, we're being silly, but all we can do at this point is speculate. However, there is one clue that does emerge from these pics. As you can see below, Bale is standing outside what looks to be the window of a palm reader or fortune teller. The title of the film refers to the tarot card that represents a contradiction, moodshift or a change of mode particularly as it pertains to love and relationships, and it seems it will have a part to play in the story.
Meanwhile, as if having four movies on the way ("Knight of Cups," "Lawless (Or Whatever It Will Be Called)," "To the Wonder" and "The Voyage of Time"), Malick is also producing a new film as well, titled "Red Wing." Naturally, there is no logline, but Will Wallace is set to direct. Who? He's an actor who has appeared in "The Thin Red Line," "The New World," "The Tree of Life" and "To the Wonder." He was also in David Gordon Green's "Undertow" (which Malick produced as well). And oh yeah, he's Malick stepson as well. The project is currently out to writers, so perhaps we'll find out more about it soon.
Until then, check out more images of Bale/Portman below. [JustJared/IOTG]

Red Wing was adapted by Malick a while back when he was developing projects for Ed Pressman. It is based on a George Sand novella.

I'm genuinely sad that the movie looks like it's going to be shot entirely on digital. Every behind the scenes pic has had them using the Arri Alexa.

I believe Will Wallace is Malick's son-in-law too. Or his nephew. Some relation, either way.
