With the American Film Market in full swing, lots of new projects and casting details will be pouring out in the coming days. The latest bit of casting comes thanks to some early art spotted at the AFM by Shock Till You Drop, and has Cillian Murphy listed with the previously announced Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver in "Red Lights," the next project from "Buried" director Rodrigo Cortes.
The film will follow a psychologist (Weaver) and her assistant whose study of paranormal activity leads them to investigate a world-renowned psychic (De Niro). The psychologist attempts to debunk the psychic's work after he steps back into the limelight after 30 years. No word yet on what Murphy's role will be. Sounds like it could be a nifty little supernatural thriller but we hope that premise has a little more steam to it than "Buried" which couldn't hold its premise for the ninety minute running time.
The film will go in front of cameras in February, shooting for seven weeks in Spain and two weeks in Canada. No release dates have yet been scheduled.
