10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesThe pair have signed up star in the horror-comedy "Milo," produced by indie stalwarts Mark and Jay Duplass. Penned by Jacob Vaughn, who has worked as an editor for the brothers on "Jeff, Who Lives At Home" and "Cyrus," wrote the script and will be directing the off beat tale about a man (Marino) with severe stomach problems. He discovers that he actually has a demon living inside of him, and during a therapy session he allows it come out of his body, names it Milo, and endeavors to finally live his life without the demon controlling him. Jacobs will play Marino's wife, the cause of one of the many stresses in his life, while Peter Stormare is also on aboard and will play the demon....nah, just kidding, he's taking the role of the therapist.
It sounds pretty perfectly oddball, and though these kinds of high-concept things can sometimes fall flat, there is an excellent base of talent assembled here so we'll keep our fingers crossed. It's also kind of nice to see the Duplass brothers giving a leg up to one of their pals, with Vaughn making his directorial debut. And Jacobs + Marino + Stormare = a lot of promise.
