Quick! Raise your hand if you're dying for a sequel to "Snow White And The Huntsman." C'mon don't be shy....wait....nobody wants this? That's what we thought. But hey, those international markets are more valuable than ever, and Universal did decently enough with the Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron starring movie (just under $400 million worldwide) that they might as well milk what they can out of this thing. Plans for this have been brewing for a while now, and while that once mooted 2015 probably isn't likely, potential directors are being rounded up.

As his career has pressed forward, director Gavin O'Connor's film titles have gotten progressively blunter: "Pride And Glory," "Warrior" and his forthcoming, "Jane Got A Gun." And now he's got another that makes no bones about the subject and thematic elements.

It seems that "Warrior" and "Pride & Glory" director Gavin O'Connor is being a bit of a directorial hero these days. Earlier this year, he stepped into the fray of "Jane Got A Gun" after Lynne Ramsay's abrupt departure, and got the thing made. And now he's taking the helm of a long developing remake that recently lost Ben Affleck as its director.

With Lynne Ramsay shockingly and mysteriously bailing on western "Jane Got A Gun" yesterday, producer Scott Steindorff of Scott Pictures promised a director would be found imminently. He wasn't kidding. Less than 24 hours later, the film has a brand new helmer to get the movie going, and likely keep any delays minimal.

After a short, but well-deserved break between 2010’s “Unstoppable” and this past February’s “Safe House,” actor Denzel Washington is back with the force you’d expect from a man who once yelled King Kong “ain’t having sh*t on me” during a heated exchange in “Training Day.” Anyways, he has the Robert Zemeckis-directed drama “Flight” set to land this November, he’s currently shooting the action picture “2 Guns” alongside Mark Wahlberg, and we just had word he could star alongside Will Smith in “Anchorman” director Adam McKay’s remake of “Uptown Saturday Night." And now we have further info on a long-developing project with Washington attached.

So are yakuza flicks the hot new trend in Hollywood or are those Far East markets more important than ever? Probably a bit of both. Earlier this year, "Safe House" helmer signed up to direct the yakuza crime flick "The Outsider" at Warner Bros., and now a rival project of sorts is gearing up.

So, writer-director Gary Ross, having helped make "The Hunger Games" into a gigantic hit, has decided to move on to new pastures. As we reported last week, Ross will be focusing on a new project, and after a few days, Lionsgate officially confirmed he will not be helming "Catching Fire," with both the studio and the director issuing formal statements.

The actor now looks to be continuing that trend having booked two new roles including a part in a star-studded crime-drama and a small screen re-teaming with regular collaborator, Gavin O'Connor.

So what on Earth could Gavin O'Connor, the man behind testosterone-driven fare like "Warrior," "Pride And Glory" and "Miracle" (okay, he also did "Tumbleweeds," but you know what we're getting at), find interesting in a Peter Pan redo produced by Channing Tatum?
