It’s that time of year. For ten years now, Time Magazine unveils a brand new list of their 100 most influential people, who for better or worse, are recognized for changing the world. People are highlighted in such categories as Titans, Leaders, Artists, Pioneers, and Icons. What caught our eye this year was the listing of Lena Dunham and Daniel Day-Lewis as Icons and Jennifer Lawrence under Artists. There is no denying their ever-growing prominence in their respective fields, but 100 most influential people in the world? Is that going a bit too far?

Lena Dunham as a brand is old news -- her evolution into the unrivaled hipster it-girl has been complete for some time. But now, a cult of Lena seems to be slowly forming as the multi-hyphenate actress-writer-director-producer takes collaborators with her from one project to the next. First, it was Alex Karpovsky and Jemima Kirke who transitioned from “Tiny Furniture” to “Girls.” And now, in a new short fashion video that Dunham directed for designer Rachel Antonoff, her onscreen lover Adam Driver of “Girls” narrates, while her sister Grace Dunham of “Tiny Furniture” stars alongside New York Times writer Alice Gregory.

With the recent news that mega-hit “Girls” will be renewed for a third season and two newly minted Golden Globes under her belt, it looks like Lena Dunham is taking the logical next step for any superstar writer-creator and starting work on a second project. Deadline reports that HBO has optioned “All Dressed Up And Everywhere To Go,” the upcoming memoir by 85-year-old Bergdorf Goodman personal shopper Betty Halbreich. Dunham plans to write the project along with her “Girls” co-showrunner and executive producer Jenni Konner.

The first season of "Girls" was both entertaining and refreshing simply by the virtue of Lena Dunham's voice, which found a milieu of New York City life for young women that was perhaps more real and honest than anything we've seen on television in quite some time. Spanning flawed to fabulous, sometimes in the same episode, these characters were not only three dimensional and complex, so too were the episodes around them, which rarely fell back on novelty gimmicks.

Well, this isn't exactly new, and HBO has yet to officially announce anything, but it looks like a third season of "Girls" is on the way, and once again, it's coming fast. And why not? The show just picked up two Golden Globe awards for Best Television Series - Musical Or Comedy and Best Actress In A Television Series - Musical Or Comedy, it's becoming a branding phenomenon with numerous tie-ins, and simply put, everyone is talking about it. So why wait?

Adam (Adam Driver) got hit by a car, Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) lost her virginity, Marnie (Alison Williams) moved out of her apartment with Hannah (Lena Dunham), Jessa (Jemima Kirke) got married....change was is in the air for the characters of "Girls" at the end of season one. And as season two opens, Hannah is (literally) waking up as a woman with a reoriented set of ways to take control of her life. But not without first making some bad decisions.

Perhaps as further evidence that great storytelling is happening just as often on the small screen as it is in the multiplex, this year's DGA nominees for televison feature more than a few names who are seasoned in the feature film world, so let's get right to it.

Here we go again. Let's cue up the Criterion Collection whiners about "Tiny Furniture" or those others who feel Lena Dunham hasn't paid whatever ephemeral dues she needs to in order to qualify for the acclaim she has earned thus far at the age of 26. Haters gonna hate, but frankly Dunham is doing just fine without those folks, and less than a year after "Girls" made a serious splash on HBO, season 2 is on the way.

It seems that the folks in the New Yorker's marketing department want to live in a world where hipsters walk around with a rolled up copy of the latest edition of the magazine in their back pocket. Or, better yet, on their iPhone. Two years ago they enlisted Roman Coppola to direct a short film about using the New Yorker iPad app -- it starred Jason Schwartzman and it was pretty awesome. And now they've raised the game a bit more, signing on a couple of high profile Emmy nominees to give everyone a fresh look at their new iPhone app.

Just as night follows day, so trailers generally follow posters, and hot on the heels of our exclusive premiere of the one-sheet for Ry Russo-Young's acclaimed Sundance hit "Nobody Walks" yesterday, Apple have premiered the first trailer for the film. And it looks pretty good, all in all. Co-written by "Girls" sensation Lena Dunham, the film follows Martine, a 23-year-old artist from New York City, who stays in the pool house of a Los Angeles family to complete work on her art film. But the characters' worlds are quickly upheaved as lust, desire and deception come creeping into the seemingly idyllic setting.
