Now middle-aged and leading different lives, a couple from opposite sides of the tracks rekindle their young romance, when a funeral in their hometown brings them together. If this all sounds vaguely familiar, that's because it's yet another Nicholas Sparks adaptation, a man who has turned formulaic and manipulative romances into a cottage industry of crap.

There were always going to be knock-on effects from the staggering success of "The King's Speech," and already we've seen Madonna's hamfisted attempt take on some of the same events in "W.E," while stammering Bertie and his Queen Elizabeth will be back on screens later this year, played by Sam West and Olivia Colman, opposite Bill Murray's President Roosevelt in "Hyde Park On Hudson." But there's one other film set around the same kind of time period on the way, a project that's just found a princess.

Summit has been making a good fist of it in the past few years, with both a Best Picture Oscar winner in "The Hurt Locker" and a highly profitable mega-franchise in the "Twilight" series, but CBS Films, established around the some time, hasn't had the same success.

Another project once linked to Doug Liman has now found a new director. Only two days ago it was reported that Steven Soderbergh would be tackling "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.," (a project that Liman eventually passed on), now Deadline reports that "The Last Station" director Michael Hoffman has taken the helm of the Coen Brothers-scribed remake of the 1966 film "Gambit," a project linked to Liman this spring.
