The wacky, theater-based, somewhat-meta comedy is tough trick to pull off, but we'll be damned if Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu isn't pulling together a helluva cast together to try and make his upcoming "Birdman" work. Before we even get to that, we're just excited to see Iñárritu shift gear completely and move away from his trademark heavy drama into what could possibly be his own "I Heart Huckabees." Or something. Either way, the possibilities for this being awesome are certainly up there, and we have our fingers crossed and undoubtedly, these set photos have stoked our excitement a little bit more.

This week, Tim Burton's wild supernatural comedy "Beetlejuice" turns a whopping 25 years old. A funny/scary ode to both the potential liveliness of haunted houses and the deathly drudgery of everyday life, it stars Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis as the Maitlands, a pair of suburban Connecticut softies who, after their death in a tragi-comic automobile accident, have to try and spook the upper crust Manhattanites named the Deetzes who have taken up residence in their home (the all-star family consists of Jeffrey Jones and Catherine O'Hara as the parents and Winona Ryder as Lydia, their sullen daughter). Since they don't have what it takes to scare away their new houseguests, they have to call on Betelgeuse (an unstoppable Michael Keaton), a self-styled "bio-exorcist," to get rid of them. And all hell (quite literally) breaks loose.

A J.J. Abrams-esque level of secrecy has never been fully associated with “Curb Your Enthusiasm” mastermind Larry David, but as details on both his series and upcoming HBO feature have heretofore remained under wraps, the comparison could hold more weight than initially thought. However, it seems the comic has relented a little on that front, as the storyline for his improv-comedy has been revealed to much delight for those anticipating the return of David's unique brand of humor. 'Beetlejuice' Sequel Writer Says It Will Be "A True Continuation" & Star "Has To Be" Michael Keaton

When it was first announced that a "Beetlejuice" sequel was in the works last month there was concern. Not only is Tim Burton's 1988 film an unassailable classic (of sorts) there is only one person to play the role and his name is Michael Keaton. But with vague word that the movie would be “advancing the storyline of the original” we worried about the direction this thing was going in and whether or not some ambitious young actor would try and take over the lead. But rest assured fans, as writers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith are promising that if everything goes according to plan this will be a real deal sequel that will see Keaton himself reprise one of his most beloved characters.

Michael Keaton And Michelle Monaghan Set For Thriller 'Penthouse North'

The Hollywood Reporter is, er, reporting that serially underrated actors Michael Keaton and Michelle Monaghan will star in a thriller entitled "Penthouse North," to be directed by Joseph Ruben. It was announced at the Toronto International Film Festival and will start shooting in Canada's capital of Ottawa this November.
