There seem to be two Ethan Hawkes working in the movies these days, operating in parallel universes. They look the same and sound the same but their choice in movies couldn't be more wildly different. There's the Ethan Hawke, whose warm, naturalistic performances in things like "Boyhood," are amongst the best in the business, profoundly moving and deeply identifiable. Then there's the Ethan Hawke who makes things like the horror romp "Sinister," where his defining character trait is his oversized cable-knit sweater that he wears in every scene.

An actor proven to be versatile and eclectic with his role choices, there seems to be only one constant in Ethan Hawke's career: directors. The actor has re-teamed with several helmers over the years, including fellow Texan Richard Linklater, Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day," "Brooklyn's Finest") and Andrew Niccol ("Gattaca," "Lord Of War"), and has a reunion with "The Woman In The Fifth" director Pawel Pawlikowski in the works. Hawke is now set to get together with "Daybreakers" directors Peter and Michael Spierig once more.

Fans of ‘80s cult film “The Dark Crystal” may hang their heads in sorrow today, as it looks as if the decades long development hell for The Jim Henson Company’s sequel to the 1982 fantasy epic helmed by Henson and Frank Oz has taken a bad turn once again.
