We've now spent nearly two decades with Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy), tracking their romance from country-to-country, and when we catch up with them in "Before Midnight," they're finally together and with a family. But is it bliss?

And there is probably no cinema couple better suited for the hazy romance fueled by the possibilities of warm weather and endless nights than Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy), and "Before Midnight" will soon be here to cap off a beloved trilogy.

Ever since Richard Linklater's "School Of Rock" became a surprise smash hit a decade ago (has it been that long?), there has been talk of a sequel that seems unlikely to ever happen. "...we were unable to crack the code and get to a place where everybody was happy and everyone was ready to go," Jack Black told us at SXSW in 2012 about a potential followup. "So we just, I don’t know – I haven’t given up, and I’m hoping that we can find it." However, there will be a way for you to rock out with one of the best fictional bands the movies has produced.

It seems both Richard Linklater and Robert Redford are having a moment. The former will be spending a good part of 2013 doing laps for "Before Midnight," his much anticipated sequel to "Before Sunrise" and "Before Sunset." Meanwhile, Redford has his latest directorial effort "The Company You Keep" hitting theaters this weekend, a surprising role in the blockbuster "Captain America: The First Avenger," an intriguing near silent turn in the upcoming disaster pic of sorts "All Is Lost" and a must-read Esquire profile too. So perhaps it makes sense that these two old Sundance pals should decide to work together.

This weekend "21 And Over" will show its possibly fake IDs to young adults across the country. A comedy written and directed by two of the writers of "The Hangover" (naturally), it chronicles the wild night of young college bound kids. The film chronicles the misadventures of Jeff Chang, who has an all important med school exam on the morning following his 21st birthday. But prodded by his friends looking for an excuse to party, a booze and babe filled birthday celebration ensues that manages to put his entire future at risk.

With “Before Midnight” being readily clasped to the bosoms of audiences and critics alike at the Berlin International Film Festival, and having missed the talent when on their promotional rounds at Sundance last month (where the film was similarly well-received, our review is here), we jumped at the chance to sit down with the film’s co-creators last week. We ran our Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy interview earlier, but up next we have director Richard Linklater -- a filmmaker we’re quite the fan of and of whom we ran a retrospective last year -- talking about bottling the lightning of the beloved “Before Sunrise” not once, not twice, but now three times over.

Screeners have gone out and filmmaker Richard Linklater ("Dazed & Confused") and Jack Black are already campaigning for their surprise indie hit "Bernie," which hit theaters earlier this year and collected a cool $9.2 million with its widest release being 332 theaters. A big player on VOD as well, "Bernie" was a major hit for Millennium Entertainment this year. So while doing the low-key rounds in New York at an awards party for the dark comedy, the L.A. Times caught up with both the director and star.
