Such are the times we live in that if you've been paying close enough attention, there are already some sites out there claiming Warner Bros. has a gameplan for when they want to reboot the Batman franchise. Maybe they do, maybe they don't, but considering that Sony kept only five years distance between Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man 3" and Marc Webb's reboot "The Amazing Spider-Man," it's certainly within the realm of possibility. But one person who won't be watching the Spidey reboots is Raimi himself, but not for the reasons you might think.

Much of the mystery surrounding Sam Raimi’s upcoming “Oz The Great and Powerful” seems to have dissipated. With two trailers that pretty clearly delineated the story and provided a generous glimpse at the film’s look, all that’s left is to see the darn thing! But, with over a month to go until the theatrical release, marketing still needs to drum up some more interest, and has apparently resorted to labeling a recycled, condensed trailer as a new “first look.” The new TV spot aired during the SAG Awards, and unless we’re mistaken, there’s nothing here that we didn’t see in the second trailer.

You would think that post-“Cabin in the Woods” there would be more skepticism than excitement about the return to the original cabin in the woods, with the forthcoming “Evil Dead” remake. But Fede Alvarez’s movie has been generating some positive buzz ever since the red band trailer hit last year, and there’s a lot of optimism for the film starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore. We imagine it’s probably taken a great deal of effort to cut together a green band version that retains the scares but removes the blood and gore, but some clever person has gone and done it, and now we have a trailer for "Evil Dead" that’s just as compelling but now suitable for the whole family!

So, even though it was reported already this spring, some folks apparently had doubts so it has been super-confirmed, but yes, "Rabbit Hole" director David Lindsay-Abaire is really and truly writing the script for the MGM "Poltergeist" remake that Sam Raimi will produce. Or will he step into the director's chair too? Bear with this.

At the San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, director Sam Raimi helped promote his upcoming "Oz The Great and Powerful" by revealing the first trailer for the quasi-prequel. During the panel, Raimi answered a question about his long-developing adaptation of "The Shadow," and revealed that the project wasn't moving forward because they couldn't get the script right. Add another gestating project to the scrap heap, as Raimi is also no longer working on video game adaptation "World of Warcraft."

So yesterday brought the first big reveal at Comic-Con, with attendees getting footage from Sam Raimi's "Oz The Great And The Powerful," and the rest of us getting a trailer shortly after the Hall H presentation ended. And the feedback so far? Mixed to say the least. And while the movie is playing off the mythology of L. Frank Baum's "Wizard Of Oz" -- at least far enough away from the original to stay out of legal trouble from MGM -- and as a result, it looks like two familiar characters have been dumped from Raimi's movie in exchange for...some primates.

Comic-Con kicked off in full force today, and you don't have to be in San Diego to get the goodies. Not long after they showed off a sizzle reel to the crowd in Hall H, Disney went ahead and dumped the first trailer for "Oz The Great And Powerful" online, and yeah, it's actually pretty impressive.

With Comic-Con 2012 just hours away, prepare yourself for an onslaught of promotion from the various studios hocking their wares at the tradeshow. And so naturally, Entertainment Tonight is getting into the fray as well. The tabloid television entertainment television news show stopped by the set of Sam Raimi's "Oz: The Great and Powerful," and if you can tolerate sitting through the annoying ET host, you'll see some first-look behind-the-scenes footage mostly involving what leads James Franco and Mila Kunis will look like in the film.
