With a release date set right in the heart of the awards season, Relativity are now starting the push for "Crazy Heart" director Scott Cooper's "Out Of The Furnace." We'd wager a trailer is likely just around the corner, but until then, the first official images from the movie are here to remind you what a star studded affair this truly is.

"It turned out great, it will not disappoint you. Whoo, it's powerful, it's great, It's not a joyful movie, but it's a very intense movie." Ok, so Woody Harrelson has already seen "Out Of The Furnace," and now we're doubly stoked for it. So wait, for those that may not know, what is it exactly? "Out Of The Furnace" is an upcoming American revenge thriller directed by Scott Cooper and it features an awesome cast that includes Christian Bale, Forest Whitaker, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Sam Shepard and Willem Dafoe. Composer Dickon Hinchliffe ("Winter's Bone") is leading the score and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder is writing an original tune for the movie. Clearly there's a lot of talent involved.

Between "Crazy Heart" and his forthcoming "Out Of The Furnace," director Scott Cooper has attached himself to a lot of stuff. "Lie Down In Darkness," "The Emperor's Children" (previously a Noah Baumbach project,) a remake of "Carancho" and the Depression-era drama "The Road Home." It's quite a to-do list, and now he's gone and added another to the pile.

One film that has been keeping to itself since shooting last year is "Crazy Heart" director Scott Cooper's sophomore effort, "Out Of The Furnace." But a newly stamped release date will see a lot more coming about the movie, hopefully very soon...

It was only a month ago that Leonardo DiCaprio made headlines when he announced that he was taking "a long, long break" from acting to focus on his environmental activism, but that doesn't mean he's keeping his feet firmly out of Hollywood. The actor also has his ever-busy production shingle Appian Way (which, in addition to vehicles for the actor, has been behind non-DiCaprio-starring movies ranging from "Ides Of March" to "Red Riding Hood") and now he's got a new project brewing, which he'll produce and possibly take the lead in.

For a while there, riding in the wake of the success of "Crazy Heart," director Scott Cooper put his name to a not insignificant number of potential projects, before finally mounting "Out Of The Furnace" last year. And it looks like one of those movies is moving on without him.

Christian Bale and Casey Affleck teaming up for "Out Of The Furnace," the long-awaited sophomore effort from "Crazy Heart" director Scott Cooper, is pretty much all the reason we needed to place it on our Most Anticipated Of 2013 list. But the gritty Rust Belt tale about two brothers who become ensnared in a violent crime ring, now has another texture to add to the drama its cooking up.

While entertainment pundit types continue to debate about what the fallout of Kristen Stewart's dalliance with "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders will be and whether or not her public apology was the right PR move, the actress is already moving on, lining up a role in a period drama that has been brewing for a while now.

For a moment there it seemed like "Crazy Heart" director Scott Cooper would just continually keep signing on to a bunch of stuff without ever shooting anything. Indeed, since country music movie became a big, Academy Award winning hit Cooper has put his name to plethora of projects including (take a deep breath): the western family feud saga "The Hatfields And The McCoys" with Brad Pitt attached; an adaptation of William Styron's "Lie Down In Darkness" with Jennifer Lawrence attached; an adaptation of Bob Dylan's "Brownsville Girl" also with Brad Pitt attached; a remake of the Argentinian thriller "Carancho"; former Noah Baumbach project "The Emperor's Children" and the conman tale "The Man In Rockefeller Suit." But it's a gig he took last summer that has now firmly take the pole position with a major star on board.

Yep, we're nigh on two years since Scott Cooper wowed critics and audiences with his tale of a rundown country singer in "Crazy Heart" and while he hasn't gone behind on the camera on a project since, he's determined to match people like Ridley Scott, Martin Scorsese and Brad Pitt in terms of projects he's attached to. It was just over a week ago that Cooper was slotted as the replacement for Noah Baumbach on "The Emperor's Children" but what the hell, he's going to sign up for something else.
