Untitled Romance Starring Ben Affleck & Rachel McAdams Is Starting To Be Shown For BuyersAfter taking two decades off between "Days of Heaven" and the "The Thin Red Line," then another seven years until "The New World" and six more years until "The Tree of Life" which started its limited rollout this weekend, director Terrence Malick is suddenly very, very busy. Last year, he knocked out another film -- formerly known as "The Burial" -- starring Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Rachel Weisz, Olga Kurylenko, Javier Bardem, Barry Pepper and Jessica Chastain, and he's still got the universe-spanning IMAX documentary "Voyage of Time" (which was once going to be a companion film to "The Tree of Life") in the works as well. But the 67-year-old helmer is just getting started it seems.

Terrence Malick's long-awaited “The Tree of Life,” opening today in select cities, is the kind of movie that is designed to be talked about, chewed on, and poured over. It’s a movie that demands you grasp at the unknowable, is challenging and gorgeous in some very deep and profound levels and asks big questions about who we are and where we came from, not just on a human level but on a grander, “how does life exist” scale. (On the same token, its complete lack of an identifiable narrative/dramatic structure and emotional aloofness might drive you batty.) Looking into “The Tree of Life” (and beyond), though, you’ll find even more tantalizing questions, possibilities, and dead-ends. The fact that most of us are still as intrigued, befuddled, and mystified by the film after we’ve seen it is a testament to its singular, oddball power. So we now present to you 10 things we’ve learned about 'Tree of Life' that maybe you never knew. This feature is probably best enjoyed after you’ve seen the film, but we give proper warning when discussing plot (if that’s the right word) specifics.

Brad Pitt Still Narrating 'Voyage Of Time' But It Has Been Pushed Back For Now2011 is a good time to be a Terrence Malick fan. The notoriously reclusive director doesn't talk to press so for the most part, before this year, getting any info on "The Tree Of Life" or anything else he was working on required patience, digging and a bit of teeth pulling. But with the "The Tree Of Life" beginning its rollout this weekend, the producers of the film are talking to press on his behalf and in addition to chatting about the film are also offering up morsels on some other projects Malick is currently cooking up. As you already know, last year he shot a new untitled film -- referred to as "The Burial" in some cirlces -- starring Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Rachel Weisz, Olga Kurylenko, Javier Bardem, Barry Pepper and Jessica Chastain. Details have been scarce, and while some bits and pieces leaked last fall, as we guessed, it'll probably be nothing like whatever those scrapings of info suggested.

With the Cannes premiere and Palme d'Or win now come and gone and the roll out for "The Tree Of Life" beginning this Friday, the long wait for Terrence Malick's latest is finally over. But that doesn't mean the project isn't without its mysteries. As Malick fans know, at some point in the film's gestation, plans were floated for a companion documentary entitled "Voyage Of Time" that would screen in IMAX.

Yes, you've read our initial review of Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life," but we've got a few more, simply because it's a film that demands discussion and contrary to popular belief, members of The Playlist do not share a brain or utilize hivemind thinking, but three writers from the site saw the film at different times yesterday in New York and L.A., and all of us came to relatively the same conclusions. Three more writers, three different, but similar takes on the film. Find them after the jump.
