Review: 'The Immigrant'The studio has tasked veteran writer Linda Woolverton -- the scribe behind "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King," "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey" and "Maleficent" -- to write the follow-up. Of course, there are no details except that it will follow "Alice fleeing real-world pressures by returning to Wonderland" and it will be inspired by Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and its sequel "Through the Looking-Glass," because duh.
No word yet if key cast members Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska will reprise their roles, but we'd reckon the studio probably has an option on them, and the same question surrounds Tim Burton. Lord knows, he needs a hit after two flops this year, and we can only guess that he'll at least flip through the script. So, hooray? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice... [Variety]
