'Die Hard 5' Shooting In 2011? Probably Not (There's No Script Yet)

Rumors began flying around this morning that "Die Hard 5," the long chatted up sequel to "Live Free Or Die Hard," would be gearing up to shoot next year in Puerto Rico, L.A., New York and Vancouver. The news originated from a report in the Puerto Rican newspaper Primera Hora, who quoted someone named Gustavo Rivera Aparicio who apparently works 20th Century Fox's PR department, so we reached out to the studio to see if we could dig up any more info. And it looks like "Die Hard 5" is isn't quite ready to go in front of cameras.

That's right, Hollywood is once again planning on trudging out Bible-based epics, but it's a pretty smart move. The Bible Belt is a huge market that isn't afraid to vote with their dollars and lately, they have been sorely underserved by Hollywood. But when they do find something they like, they reward it, as the box office tallies for such films as "The Passion Of The Christ" and "The Blind Side" (which had a huge faith-based marketing campaign) will attest to.

The "Wanted" director is developing myriad projects, including "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" (separate from the David Fincher one), a sci-fi film with "Monsters" director Gareth Edwards, and "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" (among many others) which is his next directorial vehicle and is already slated for a June 22, 2012 release date.
