Drive Soundtrack Cover Edit

With the awards season over, the Oscars handed out and more importantly, the film now on BluRay and DVD, you would think that would be the last we're likely to hear about one of 2011's best films, Nicolas Winding Refn's "Drive." But alas, there is still more to come.

In addition to being one of the finest films of the last twelve months, "Drive" also boasted one of the best soundtracks, a rare feat in which the music and the movie it's in are inseperable. And now, it's arriving in a new edition, a fancy pants vinyl release courtesy of Portishead member Geoff Barrow's Invada Records. No, this won't boast any extra new bells and whistles, but it will give hardcore audiophiles and fans a chance to listen to the songs by Kavinsky & Lovefoxxx, The Chromatics, Desire and Riziero Ortolani and the score by Cliff Martinez in all its analog glory.

The vinyl version of "Drive" will land in stores on May 21st in the U.K., though there's no word yet if a domestic label or distributor will handle it, so you might have to pony up import prices. Pre-orders will start March 8th at the label's website

Update: Mondo (via Collider) has announced they will be issue the vinyl edition of "Drive" in the U.S. in June.
