10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesBut with the wheels spinning on a "Tron: Legacy" followup aka "Tron 3," with a new writer being brought on board to pen the script, it looks like we can start asking about casting, and that's just what Next Movie has done. They put the question to Garrett Hedlund, and he confirmed he'll be back, and served up this riveting quote: "Disney's very excited. That's about that. You know, yeah, I'm very excited, Disney's very excited." In case you didn't understand, there seems to be excitement.
Anyway, no word yet on when this might actually shoot, but Joseph Kosinski -- who is busy getting his sci-fi Tom Cruise vehicle "Oblivion" over the finish line -- is attached to direct. So rest assured, continuity will not be broken.

im more interested in whether daft punk are going to do the soundtrack again?? one of the best soundtracks in decades. although of course its good to hear that theyre getting the same team back again. Tron Legacy might not of had the greatest story but the visuals and soundtrack make this one of my benchmark blurays.

I can't be the only one happy that Tron 3 is happening, right?

"Major studio franchises aren't in the habit of switching up the talent involved in lead roles."
Then what about Transformers?
