Crazy Horse

Documentarian Frederick Wiseman is skilled, renowned, and insanely prolific -- yet despite his 40+ directorial credits, good luck finding any of his work outside of their limited theatrical runs. He's a Netflix no-no and few websites carry his work cheaply, forcing fans to order directly from his Zipporah Films. It doesn't exactly entice new viewers (nowadays, who would honestly drop thirty bones on a movie they hadn't seen before?), and veterans likely await the inevitable art-house theater retrospective to see their Wiseman inexpensively.

While we await the cost-efficient revival of his earlier work, come January 18th we'll be able to see his new flick "Crazy Horse" in New York City's Film Forum. Having nothing to do with Neil Young, his stylistic fly-on-the-wall approach which has previously documented decrepit mental facilities and intimidating boxers now rests on the lovely ladies at the eponymous cabaret club. The Parisian club Crazy Horse is regarded as a must-see tourist attraction (ranking up there with something called "The Eiffel Tower") featuring "the greatest and most chic nude dancing in the world." Below we have a new trailer for the film with English subtitles, snooping around the behind-stage preparations and showcasing the colorful, flamboyant stage spectacles. Be warned, it's still not safe for work (or for prudish visiting aunts and uncles), so wait until after dinner to watch this dazzling preview.
